I woke up in a cold sweat. My body was shaking, tears streaming down my face. I stood up, careful not to wake anyone else. I slipped out and ran. The rush of air against the sweat still running own my body chilled me to the bone, but I ignored it. I was used to it. I stopped in front of his door. It creaked open. I climbed into his bed, my hand on his hair. He was okay, and so was I.
I awoke to sunshine illuminating the room. It was quiet. No yells, crashes, mutters. Just a quiet chuckle above me. My sleep-deprived eyes struggled to open. And then, I saw him. Just petting my hair. No more. Love filled eyes, longing to know, to comfort. But he kept quiet.
"Thank you, Percy."
Green met gray, and the corners of his mouth tugged up.
"Anything for you, Annabeth."
