The war is over…but the Hunger Games are not. There will be one last Game, to punish the Capitol. A Game not using District children or even Capitol children…these Games will use the offspring of the politicians themselves, including President Snow's granddaughter. SUBMIT TRIBUTES!
"So, an alternative has been placed on the table. Since my colleagues and I can come to no consensus, it has been agreed that we will let the victors decide. A majority of four will approve the plan. No one may abstain from the vote," says Coin. "What has been proposed is that in lieu of eliminating the entire Capitol population, we have a final, symbolic Hunger Games, using children directly related to those who held the most power."
"Are you joking?" asks Peeta.
"Was this Plutarch's idea?" asks Haymitch.
"It was mine," says Coin. "It seemed to balance the need for vengeance with the least loss of life. You may cast your votes."
"No!" bursts out Peeta. "I vote no, of course! We can't have another Hunger Games!"
"Why not?" Johanna retorts. "It seems very fair to me. Snow even has a granddaughter. I vote yes."
"So do I," says Enobaria, almost indifferently. "Let them have a taste of their own medicine."
"This is why we rebelled! Remember?" Peeta looks at the rest of us. "Annie?"
"I vote no with Peeta," she says. "So would Finnick if he were here."
"But he isn't, because Snow's mutss killed him," Johanna reminds her.
"No," says Beetee. "It would set a bad precendent. We have to stop viewing one another as enemies. At this point, unity is essential for our survival. No."
I weigh my options carefully, think everything through. Keeping my eyes on the rose, I say, "I vote yes…for Prim."
A furious Peeta hammers Haymitch with the atrocity he could become party to, but I can feel Haymitch watching me. This is the moment, then. When we find out exactly just how alike we are, and how much he truly understands me.
"I'm with the Mockingjay," he says.
In Chapter 26 of Mockingjay, there was a conversation that had every heart skip a beat…when President Coin suggests the Final Hunger Games, using the children of those who held most power. And, if Katniss hadn't killed President Coin, those Hunger Games might have very well happened. So, how would the spoilt, unprepared Capitol kids have coped? Would they cry? Would they fight? And most importantly…
Would they put on a good show?
A/N: Oh, dramatic! So, I need tributes for my wonderful and ultimately tragic Games. You can submit whoever you like, but I have some guidelines….
Please don't just take a character from another story…invent a new one. It's not hard.
No Careers. These kids have really gone from celebrity lifestyle to a fight to the death. Wait! I will permit ONE Career…the child of the Captain of the Army, Army General, Military Boss, you pick a title.
Tributes must be between 18 and 12. Wait! There is again ONE exception…a seven year old. Chose whatever reason they were picked.
The parents should PREFERABLY be politicians, not celebrities.
You can include as much (or as little) as information as you want. But I need their name, age and parent(s).
I want one child who is Finnick's son/daughter…(remember the whole 'I was sold' thing? Yeah…somebody wasn't very careful.) You can make up anything else about them.
I want one child who is related to Plurtach somehow…niece or nephew, cousin, whatever.
I will allow self-based characters.
