LbN: This was in response to a story Fembuck wrote called "Turnabout is Fair Play". You should read that one too :)... Happy reading!

Ares was so pissed that flames were coming from his hands. Not only had his daughter lost a fight, she was currently holding a civil conversation with the victor.

"Come now, Ares," Athena said, coming to stand next to him and looking down at their children. "It could be worse."

Surprisingly, Ares calmed down a bit and nodded. Both gods looked over at Poseidon. It could be a lot worse.

"Glad you find your daughter's betrayal of my son amusing," the Sea God said cooly.

Ares and Athena looked at their children again. Ares went pale, but recovered quickly and laughed. "Well, you can't blame Annabeth, can you? All my children inherited my looks and charms…"

"That explains so much," Hermes muttered in passing.

"Besides, it's not a betrayal," Athena reasoned. "They're young. Percy and Annabeth aren't even dating. And however much we'd like to think otherwise, they're primarily mortal. Best to just let things be. And stop watching, Hermes!" she called into the other room.

This became difficult for all of the gods assembled, as Annabeth was currently blaspheming enough to catch the attention of all Olympus…

Ares plugged his ears and turned away. He'd be the first to admit that he was a complete chauvinist. He was in the habit of watching his sons' sexual conquests, usually cheering them on with Zeus, but this was one of his daughters. With Athena's daughter. He shuddered. Trying not to think about it, he wandered off to his chambers to watch the war in Iraq.

He made sure to kick Hermes as he passed.
