All Of The Stars
Fiyero walked out of the rambunctious crowd and into the humidified, dreary silence of the night. He ran a hand through his midnight locks and took account on how shaggy his hair was getting. He pushed the thought out of his mind as he looked up at the pitch dark sky.
A white dot flickered across the black canvas. A shooting star. 'I wish you were here with me.' Fiyero wanted in his head. He then began to hum, a simple children's nursery rhyme that considered twinkling spheres of gas up in the atmosphere. He knew if she was with him he would sing to her.
And with those thoughts came more thoughts. Thoughts on only one person that could make the scandilcious prince think so much. The person who was held responsible for bringing terror to the land, sleepless nights throughout Oz, and was guilty of stealing his heart.
She was somewhere in the hot air tonight. And he was there, looking at the stars outside of the Oz dust. He wondered if she could see them too.
If only she knew just how much he loved her. How he spent countless nights wanting her next to him instead of halfway across the world. How much he would go through if it meant he could be with her. Her. Elphaba. The Wicked Witch. But in truth, she wasn't wicked, just misunderstood, and frightfully stubborn. He hated how she left him, because all he ever wanted was to just see her face again. Fiyero felt like she torn his heart out and threw it on the ground when he heard she wasn't going to be returning. He knew this was all apart of the deal though, the emotion of love didn't let you through without a couple of scars.
And his mind trailed off to the land of what-might-have-been. What if she had just gone through with it? Come back to Shiz? Would she acknowledge him? Smile at him? Hug him? Kiss him? Unrealistic he knew but a guy had to hope on something.
He remembered the words she had told him, before she left… before Galinda, now Glinda, had interrupted. She said she had also been thinking about that day a lot. That Lion Cub day. Did she still think about it? He knew he did.
He could remember so clearly how he felt when he gazed at her. She wasn't the Artichoke that everyone always hated on, no, she was Elphaba the green goddess that had the most beautiful face. The most mesmerizing eyes, most transfixing lips.
The lightning that bolted through him when her hand touched his. How enhanced he felt by her green piano fingers gripping onto his sturdy ones. How he wanted to slip his fingers through her own, do the same to the other hand, then bring her mouth to his so he could kiss it.
He wanted to basically go back in time, say, two years, kiss her, not let her meet the Wizard, and live happily ever after with her. Was that too much to ask for?
He sighed. How he missed her. He looked up at the stars once more.
"Be safe tonight." He whispered to the wind, hoping it would carry his message to her ears. The star filled sky glistened in response.
'Do you see them too?' She thought of him as she dazed at the stars.
