Bramblestar was lying in his new nest under the highledge, trying to take a nap.
It still smells like Firestar.
The thought left a pang of regret for his former leader and mentor, killed by a lightning strike after the victory over the cats of the Dark Forest; he was perhaps one of the best leaders Thunderclan had ever known, even if he was born as a kittypet.

The bracken covering Bramblestar's den rustled and a familiar scent reached his nose.
"Come in Squirrelflight." he purred. His mate and deputy pushed through the bracken, her belly heavy with kits. "How are the little ones?" he asked.
"Very active, which is more than I can say for Me." she replied somewhat bitterly.

Ever since she started to swell around the middle, he had insisted that she rest, and he took over the job of organizing patrol. Taking the duties of both leader and deputy was tiring, but he wanted to make sure his kits were healthy.

"Once the kits arrive, you'll be plenty active trying to keep them under control." Bramblestar purred.
"I can hardly keep them under control now, they're wriggling like mad!" She purred back
"Let's hope they have quieter lives than most of Firestar's descendants," he joked
"Great work mousebrain, you just jinxed them! Any minute now Jayfeather's going to come in with a prophecy from Star clan about our kits!"

She meant it as a joke but as soon as the words left her mouth, the mentioned blind medicine cat walked in.
"Is this a bad time?" Jayfeather asked.
"No, come in Jayfeather, what troubles you?" Bramblestar replied. "Wait, don't tell me. You've received a prophecy from Star clan that foretells of our kits saving the clans in some great and spectacular way and we should let them go on some journey that could possibly kill them to find some secret?"
Jayfeather Chuckled. "Well I'm not sure about the specifics, but I did receive a prophecy from Star Clan."
"I didn't want to say I told you so, but I did!" Squirrelflight said.
Bramblestar rolled his eyes. "Go ahead."
Jayfeather cleared his throat. "It's not very clear, but then, prophecies never are. It goes like this. 'When the blood of the raging fire and the roaring tiger mix, it shall create the hero of the universe.' I'm not exactly sure what that last part means, but I think it's pretty obvious what the mixing of the tiger and fire means."
"Our kits are the kin of both Firestar and Tigerstar." Bramblestar muttered.
"Exactly, I may be blind, but even I can see that at least one of your kits is destined for greatness."
"They have to get here first." Squirrelflight purred.
