"That was an amazing song." Breathed Tom, staring into his companion's eyes. His friend shrugged his shoulders shyly. "I can't wait to make the music video with you." A light blush spread lightly over his cheeks. "Where do you get your ideas from?"

"From people and friends, I guess." Said Ed putting down his guitar slowly and sitting on the indigo sofa next to Tom. "Y'know it's funny," He said starting to run his fingers through Tom's hair as he talked. "My favourite colour has been electric blue ever since I met you." The blush spread to Ed's face like a disease, not that he cared. He put his had lightly on Tom's, looking deeply into his eyes; they seemed to change colour ever time he looked.

"We're going to need more songs for our joint EP, though." Ed trailed off, looking down.

"But I need more inspiration first; I'm clean out." Tom sighed as he edged closer to Ed, suddenly the sofa seemed so small, the gap between the two of them closing fast.

Out of the malachite, there was a thump on the front door. The knock was repeated several times, getting louder each time. Tom whipped round in his seat when he first heard it. The person at the door was not going to give up. Ed looked disappointed but nudged Tom to get the door. With that, the bluenette got up and trudged over to the door briskly. He sighed, and tried to pull a smile into place while he opened the door.

A boy with high puff levels, but a tear stained fell into Tom's arms before he could do anything more.

"Alex?" He exclaimed, wide-eyed. "What are you doing here? Why are you not with Charlie?" He was bemused, but supported his friend nonetheless.

Alex threw himself onto the indigo sofa, next to Ed. His t-shirt, a shade of comic latte, was sticking to him with sweat and tears. Through sobs, he tried to explain how he and Charlie had had a fight, a stupid fight, about jump cut editing. He looked up at the other two; the blush had faded from their faces and had been replaced with slight disappointment at the situation.

"Alex?" Tom said, slightly nervous about what he was about to ask. "We think you should go and talk to Charlie, you guys could make this up easily." Alex looked up at them, crestfallen.

"Can't I just stay here for the night?" Alex's eyes darted between them as he waited for an answer. Ed spoke up for the first time in a while.

"Well, it's just that we really need to work on our new EP in peace and quiet." He said gently, ushering Alex towards the door. Although Alex wanted to stay, he understood what his friends were trying to tell them, walking, jacketless, into the cold, rainy night.

"I feel really bad for him…" Ed sighed as he walked back over to the sofa, into Tom's arms.

"He'll be fine," Tom stated, wrapping his arms around his friend. "They need to get over their petty fights. Anyway, we still need some inspiration."

"Well," Ed looked into Tom's eyes. "I'm pretty inspirational." The gap between them closed completely as they wrapped their arms around each other in a passionate embrace…

The sky was a beautiful burnt orange; the light streaming through the thin curtains woke Ed. He was at first surprised to see Tom curled up in his arms, but quickly the memory of the night before came flooding back, bringing a smile to his face. Tom groggily opened his eyes and smiled up at Ed.

"I had an amazing night last night." Tom whispered.

Ed smiled down at him, grinning. "Well, I'll be yours forever, less than three."
