He never told her.

He always assumed there'd be a tomorrow, so he never bothered to tell her. And now she was gone.

He never told her how her stubbornness drove him nuts. Or how sometimes she could make him so mad he could scream. He never told her that the way she cleaned her gun bugged the hell out of him. Or that if she would just hold her rifle a little farther up the barrel she'd get better accuracy. He never told her that Ellen was right, most of the time, and that she should listen to her Mom more often, because she's just lucky to have one. He never told her that thinking about her made him crazy. He never told her that whenever she walked into a room he got butterflies in his stomach and his heart beat faster. Or that he always cared about her, always worried about her hunting. He never told her that he noticed everything about her, from how she always tried the right hook first when fighting to the way she'd look over her shoulder at him when walking away. He never told her what he was too scared to tell her when she was alive; that he wanted to be with her. He never told her that he should have kissed her earlier than on her deathbed. Or how he thought she was so brave for sacrificing herself to save the others. He never told her how losing her scared him worse than facing Lucifer. But, most importantly, he never told her that he loved her. And now she was gone.
