Sakura was many things. She was Coca-Cola Cherry on a warm summer afternoon. She was a bright smile and a soft laugh in his direction. She was a soft caress against his cheek when her lips met his skin. She was the light of his life and the happiness that was blooming inside of him, slowly but surely.
She was also clueless.
And that's what hurt Sai the most.
It wasn't when she was lacing her fingers through that stupid Uchiha's, or when she smiled warmly at him and then turned around and kissed someone else. It wasn't even when she begged him to help her get Sasuke back when they had a huge fight.
It was throughout every moment, with every glance he gave her, he was filled with such a strong longing that it hurt, and she didn't even know. She wasn't aware that when he kissed her cheek, he pulled away feeling hungry for more; that when she smiled and asked him for a study date, his heart fluttered at the word.
But it couldn't be helped- she and Uchiha were a thing, and he was a nothing.
For now.
