After Ocean's 12 & Tess Ocean are escorted to Jail, Tess is unsure whether to trust Danny, after not hearing from him for months. This is her story.
Chapter One: Jailhouse Suck
"Danny sucks" Tess said, as she sat in a musty jail cell. She was afraid to look across the room, where what looked like two prostitutes were snickering at her. She just looked down at her palms. "Danny… why?" she said, whispering at her rather chapped palms. Nobody said playing Julia Roberts was easy.
She could sense Danny and the others in a cell nearby. Even though Danny had lied to her face, even disappearing for months, she still had feelings for him. Danny was her rock, what kept her sane. Danny kept her Tess, rather than Tess' mother. Now, where had that gotten her? Stuck in an Italian prison, for inserting herself into one of Danny's jobs. Then again, she wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Linus. Damn Linus. She reminded herself not to ever look him in the eye again.
She did the only thing she could do. She retreated to her memory. She thought of the simpler times. The times that she promised herself she would remember forever. She quickly closed her eyes and saw a hill. A picnic basket was sat nearby. Danny had her in his arms, as they stared at the clouds together. She giggled. He chuckled. It was pure bliss in Tess' mind. Their relationship was fresh.
Fresh, new, all horrid words. Tess knew that, because as the years wore on, she could feel Danny pulling away from her. He began to take more and more jobs, most of which were international. Tess couldn't help but worry, although she knew that he would be ok. "He always was, and he always will be." She told herself, as she saw Linus being escorted to be interrogated by the FBI. She automatically looked down, as to remind herself that he was one of the reasons she was in prison right now.
Who was she kidding? She had no one to blame but herself for this. "I missed him…" she said, although she thought she was going to cry. She could have said no. She could have let Danny and those idiots go along on their merry way, and leave her (or Julia Roberts now that she thought about it) out of it. She loved Danny Ocean dammit! She loved him more than life itself. Now all she had to do was play her cards right, and get the hell of this cell. "Hopefully… soon" she said, and then she cried. She just sat there with her head in her arms, and she cried her eyes out.
Not soon after, she saw Linus leave, and she was anxious. A guard came up to her cell, whitch by now was filled with several women, although Tess had managed to stay away from them. "Vogliono che la star del cinema falso prossimo" (1) the guard said, motioning for Tess to leave. Tess followed him into the interragation room, whitch was much smaller than she had imanged.
"So... Mrs. Roberts... if that is your real name..." the interragator started. Tess was anxious. "Not Roberts, Ocean." Tess said, with unknown confidence. It was strange to her, using Danny's last name. She hadn't even thought of it, it had just come out. Maybe that was a sign from the universe that Danny & her were meant to be together. She smiled, although she suddenly remembered where she was.
"My name is Tess Ocean."
