Drabble because I can't sleep.
Set early season 3 when Justin's having his lost couple of months and shacking up with Ethan.
They'd groped and that had been fine. They'd kissed and licked and nipped at flesh and that had been fine. They'd fucked and that had been fine too. But it was after they'd groped and after they'd kissed, licked and nipped flesh and after they'd fucked that the trick had crossed the line.
The trick could never have known he was crossing the line. The lines, after all, had been drawn by a man trying so hard to numb himself with drugs, alcohol and work that he hadn't been able to draw the lines properly and they were more that a little fuzzy in places. But as the trick had reached up to plant a kiss on his lover for the night's lips, he'd found himself hurtling backward with a surprising force.
"What the hell?" The trick demanded.
"I don't kiss," Brian muttered.
"Yeah," the trick smirked, "whatever." He reached up to kiss the man again and this time, he was pushed away even harder, stumbling into a large blue post in the centre of the room.
"I … don't … kiss," Brian repeated more determinedly. His eyes flashed angrily as he glared at the man nursing his bruising arm but Brian didn't waste long before he was going to the kitchen and raiding the cupboard for the bottle with the highest alcohol content.
"Why the fuck not?" The trick asked. "We all know you don't have a boyfriend anymore."
Brian just sighed heavily, staring at the bottle of whiskey and taking a swig. He winced a little as the thick liquid burnt its way down his throat.
"I think it's time you left," he said, choking a little as he took a large gulp of the drink. He needed the alcohol to help numb this … whatever this was.
"But you're single," the trick protested, as Brian slid the loft door open and signalled silently for the trick to leave. "You're free now and I've heard you love to kiss. I don't get it."
And why should he get it? He was just a know-nothing (or perhaps a know-rumours) trick that Brian had picked up at Boy Toy because he was blonde and bared a passing resemblance to a certain person Brian almost never thought about.
He couldn't know that Brian Kinney was a man of his word and that when he made a promise to someone he stuck to it no matter what. And the trick would never know that whenever anyone tried to kiss Brian, all he could hear in his head were words spoken by perfect lips in the middle of a crowded dance floor; "one more thing, you don't kiss anyone else on the mouth but me."
