Inexplicable
Told
by Remus Lupin
I sighed, the Gryffindor common room is in its usual after-class chaos, and across the room Sirius is turning his charms on the girls again. But he was soon disturbed by a loud argument that arouse by the fireplace.
"For your information, James Potter, transfiguration is more important than charms?!"
Everyone in common room are turned their attention to James and Lily, staring at them with amusement. But none of them, I'm sure, is the least bit surprised.
"All of the studies of magic are equally important! It was said in The Magical Study of Magic, by Nicolas Flamel!!" Lectured Lily.
"Really, I don't see you so keen on taking Divination." James shot back, not loosing his cool.
I rolled my eyes, out of corner of my eyes I saw Sirius doing the same from across the room. Lily and James had just managed to break their record by getting into their fourth major argument of the year on the second day of school. Neither of them had ever won an argument, partly because they were both very stubborn, and partly because Professor McGonagall always breaks up their arguments by sending one of them to detention, which is usually James. Detentions are no stranger to James, it's like an extra course he's taking. Makes me wonder how he got to be the head boy sometimes.
"Well, at least I've got Quidditch." Their argument had turned Quidditch again. James always brings it up, because it's one thing he could do well, and Lily couldn't.
"Falling back on Quidditch again, are we? How pathetic." Lily remarked with a tone of sarcasm in her voice.
James stepped forward, "Then tell me if this is pathetic." He said as he bent down and kissed her gently on the lips. I wasn't really surprised, they always had a thing for each other, arguing is just their way of flirting. I'm very observant for a werewolf. About the kiss in the middle of their argument, I was a bit surprised, but after all, James is James.
"Ahem. James would come with me for your detention now?" Professor McGonagall's voice stood out clearly in the Woos and Ahs echoing through the common. James stepped back, grinning broadly, and followed Professor McGonagall with confidence in his stride.

"Shouldn't you go to Quidditch practice now?" Said Lily, pulling away from a kiss.
"Yep. Shouldn't you go down to Madam Pince to get a refill of your brains?" James teased. She hit him gently on the chest and left the corridor.
Sirius chuckled softly, "You know Prongs, if kisses could kill…"
"I'd be glad to be dead for a billion times." Said James, beaming.
It's a rather strange relationship between them, but I know that they are going to be all right. Why? That is something that not even I could Explain.
