Valentine
Prologue
Disclaimer: Don't sue me
A/N: Count this as a "I'm stupid, I'm too full of S+S scenes in my head but I can't write them into a fic well enough but I feel like writing something anyway" kind of thing.
Note: Characters are age 13 in this fic
"Tomoyo-chan…" Sakura murmured weakly to her friend during recess one day.
"What's wrong, Sakura-chan?" Tomoyo looked towards the girl sitting next to her on the bench.
"I feel… strange…"
"Are you feeling sick? You look awfully pale!" Tomoyo cried, looking at her cherished blossom as if it had suddenly faded and died.
"No, no," Sakura laughed softly. "I'm just fine… it's just that… that…" She looked down suddenly, and her hair fell onto her face, masking her features.
Tomoyo reached over, and with a gentle touch carefully brushed Sakura's golden auburn hair from her cheeks and tucked the strands behind her ear. This done, she discovered that Sakura had turned bright red and held her eyes wide open, staring at the grass.
"Sakura-chan," she whispered sadly, her big sorrowful violet eyes staring straight at her best friend. "Tell me what's wrong."
Sakura looked up. Somehow Tomoyo's cooling touch and soft, sweet voice relaxed her. She took a deep breath, and spoke. "It's Syaoran-kun."
Tomoyo's eyes softened, and she smiled gently at Sakura. "What about him?"
"He… I… He makes me feel… Whenever he… I always… I get… I…I…" Sakura stumbled over her words.
"Yes?" Tomoyo spoke, smooth and soothing, knowing what Sakura was going to say, yet encouraging Sakura to continue. She knew she needed Sakura to admit it to herself. After that happened, Tomoyo knew she could relax. After Sakura admitted it to herself, Tomoyo wouldn't have to be as worried about her ever again. But she knew she would still love her, even after Sakura knew… after she knew… But she tore herself from her thoughts and concentrated on the trembling girl besides her.
And Sakura spoke. She spoke in a barely audible voice, almost gasping out her words – but she spoke.
"I think I'm in love with him."
Hopefully I can output all of this by Valentines, chances are, not including the prologue this will turn out to be a 2 or 3 parter.
