The pain seemed rather unusual than that of before. The blood-curling screams filled the room as painful as the blood, shedding quickly from beneath his skin. The skin was morphing from life to a deadly pale, and while he tried breathing, it was hard enough for him as it was, to even stare up at the face of his enemy. From every breath he took, he felt death, and every time he stared up at his enemy, standing before him, with lizard-like eyes and the devilish smile, he felt death in his presence, staring at him, mocking and laughing at him. Growing limp as he was, while his eyes fixed cold at the one whom was murdering him every single, his heart was filled with rage, and yet with fear all in one, as if they were taking over his heart.

"No matter what you do, you'll never get away from me, you son of a bitch!" Haku shouted.

A grin plastered upon the villain's face, as he arose, and laughed mockingly at the wounded soldier. "You might as well be dead now. But no, there's more than you think."

Haku lay back, and interlocked his fingers together while glaring, before quickly setting his fingers to the ground, gripping upon at least sometimes to maintain his balance before collapsing. "Then what the hell do you want from me?"

"Ha ha, looks like I'm the one having to answer everything. I suppose expected that you would answer them, yourself, my dear friend-"

"I would never be your friend!"

"I'm going to tell you this; I will have to have you obtained for such circumstances if you don't help me out here. However, for once I'm going to let you live, only for you to help with something first-you must be used to bring me forth a living soul of another world; go through a wormhole or a cave I don't care which. You have three days to bring me a human."

Human, the first word that came to mind brought Haku to clenching his teeth in such fear and anger, while sweat streamed down his face with the crimson blood spilled down the lines of his face. "What would you want with a human? What have people done to make you do this?"

"You better wait; the truth will wait for you in the future. For now, go off and rot yourself for now."

The tall lizard-like figure turned around, and vanished into the distance of the shadows, slamming the door behind him as he hurried. Haku's eyes felt stoned by the stares and Cheshire-cat like smiles of his enemy, his ears and head were paralyzed. Human. The one word that kept his ears and mind in pain, as he looked back at the past of which he met a good friend, someone more than a friend, someone he truly loved and cared for, a human. Irritated enough as he was, he pressed his blood-stained hand to his heart, and fixed his eyes on the image in his mind in incidence, of someone with such curiosity, short hair to match her innocent button eyes, her soul of a mouse able to fight the cat, rather logical, but yet filled with joy, fear, faith, courage, determination, and love. Chihiro.

While struggling to maintain his strength, Haku tired lifting his body upward, while trying to balance himself without collapsing and dying. He knew that his time wasn't done, Chihiro's time wasn't done. But the clock was yet ticking, and there wasn't any time to hesitate.

"Zenaku, whatever you do, I won't let you hurt her," Haku said under his breath, "and Chihiro, I promise I won't let anything hurt you. Hang on tight, I'm coming for you."
