The Funeral Song

This is my first poem. It doesn't really have any characters in it, but I was thinking of the wizarding world after the war, and the stages that the families affected would have to go through to rebuild. My 1st thought was Tonks, and how her mum felt .

The Funeral Song

Kiss my tears away.

Lay me to sleep with a smile on your face.

Remember me for my joys,

And forgive me for my faults.

Sing me a lullaby

As you watch me rest

Peaceful at last.

Remember me for the melody I played.

Laugh at my antics

As you watch me run for the final time

To a place where you can't catch me when I fall.

Remember the safety you brought me as I lay in your arms.

Dance with me in the rain

And feel me dance with you

As I dance to a different tune.

Remember that though the tune has changed, the dance remains the same.

Scare the monsters away

Shouting "Boo" as I hide behind you

Where the monsters can't reach me.

Remember the protection you provided me.

Talk to me

As you pretend I hear you

And the world isn't a cruel place.

Remember the stories that I fell in love with.

But most of all,

Remember me

The beautiful person I was and could have been.

Remember that life goes on

And the tune keeps playing.
