An insufferable know-it-all

Snape hates her.

He hates that her hand is always the first, and sometimes the only one, that rises whenever he asks a question to the class.

He hates how she throws her body forward every time he explains something new (as if by getting closer to the professor's desk she would learn more) and the way she notes down every little and petty detail of the lesson.

He also hates the fact that she is a muggleborn, that the Sorting Hat sorted her into Gryffindor, and that she is Potter's friend.

But above all, he hates that she is alive while Lily is not.

So when the girl skipped the protocol and gave the correct answer with her annoying and bragging voice when he hasn't given her permission to speak Snape could not keep back any longer and whispered:

"This is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger. Five more points from Gryffindor, Miss Granger, for being an insufferable know-it-all"

The Professor smiled as he remembered that moment. Maybe what he said was not appropriate. However, Severus is convinced that public humiliation is the least she deserves for trying to be something she is not.

For trying to be like Lily.

I want to thank Muselina who kindly accepted to help me in this project. I couldn't have done it without her.
