Disclaimer: I don't own Warriors. If I did, I would… I don't know… take the time to revise my novel before publishing it. (And, yes, I realize that they have editors. Obviously they aren't doing their job)
-Nettlepaw's Story-
-Prologue-
Water churned into violent whirlpools, swallowing up every cat that came near. Every Riverclan cat was swimming for higher ground, and higher ground meant survival. Endless rain was still falling from the gray sky, soaking even those who had not set paw in the massive flood that swept across the Riverclan camp. Cats yowled for loved ones, but even they, the great Riverclan warriors that they were, did not try to swim across the endless sea of rain and river water. Thunder pounded in the distance, coming ever closer, drawing the lightning in its path.
While every cat was wailing in distress, one sat at the top of the ravine, surveying the scene. He did not seem at all afraid or interested in any way. He just sat there, his dark amber eyes burning with satisfaction, dull brown fur bristling. He suddenly let out a cackle of mischief, causing the cats below to look up briefly. None paid him any mind, except for a large, dark gray tabby who padded up to him, facing the pounding rain head on.
"Ashstar!" The cat growled menacingly, his dark green eyes glowing.
The cat, Ashstar, looked up in disinterest. "Yes, Gillstar?" he asked innocently.
Gillstar stood with his claws digging into the ground and tail puffed out. "You leave my territory at once, or face the consequences!"
Ashstar scoffed in disbelief. "There is nothing your puny Riverclan 'warriors' can do to my pureblood Thunderclan cats!" With this, the small dusky brown cat thrust his tail forward, and cats came pouring out of every bush, behind every tree, and anywhere else they could hide.
Ashstar laughed maniacally, watching his warriors tear apart the already ruined camp, as thunder blared overhead and lightning lit up the sky.
