Ki looked up at Darren. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Darren let go of Ki, and gave an exasperated sigh. "I just cleaned this living room two days ago. Following me, so far? And now I have a pile of glass, on my beige carpet. What I am saying is: I am not cleaning that up."

Mr. Crepsley looked at Darren, and shook his head. "You may have grown Darren, but you surely have gotten dumber."

"Seriously," Ki sighed, sitting back down on the futon.

"Do you know how much money it is going to cost me to clean this carpet? Or how much it is going to cost me to replace it?" Darren said picking up Sammy, who was whimpering under the futon.

"Out of all the things that has happened today, and now Merlot showing up…You are worried about a beige carpet?!" Mr. Crepsley snapped, finding no humor in Darren's comments whatsoever.

Darren grinned, and picked up a piece of glass. "You know, I may be anal about keeping a clean home. But, look at what we have here."

Darren held up a piece of glass, with a chunk of Merlot's skin on it.

"What the fuck is that?!" Ki screeched in disgust.

"Merlot," Darren smirked.

Ki's eyes lit up. "Oh. I see."

Mr. Crepsley looked at the piece of glass, in disgust.

"You claim to be anal about clean living conditions. And yet, you touch someone's bodily fluids?"

"Damn right!" Darren paused. "Wait…Vampaneze really have blood?"

"Yeah…" Ki looked at Darren, with a: 'are-you-fucking-stupid?!' look.

Darren lost all color in his face, and dropped the piece of glass. He looked from Mr. Crepsley to Ki.

"I hate you both." Darren said his eyes still wide.

"That would have any effect on me, because? Here, let me see the shard of glass." Mr. Crepsley held out his hands.

Darren picked up the piece of glass, by a tiny edge and threw it in Mr. Crepsley's hands.

Mr. Crepsley held up the piece of glass, and looked at the piece of skin attached to it. He smiled.

"I think we won't have a hard time, tracking him down."

"Why do you say that?" Ki asked, looking at Mr. Crepsley.

"Merlot's blood," Mr. Crepsley paused. "Depending on the color, even the odor, we can tell where he is generally living."

"Really," Darren asked.

Mr. Crepsley grinned, "Oh yeah!"

"Where's Ki?" Darren asked, looking at where Ki was sitting.

"You really are oblivious, aren't you?" Mr. Crepsley shook his head.

"Well, where is she?" Darren snapped.

"She smokes. You know? Cigarettes," Mr. Crepsley pointed towards Darren's balcony.

Sure enough, Ki was leaning against the railing smoking a cigarette.

Darren walked out on to the balcony, and looked at Ki. Ki exhaled, and looked over at Darren.

"What? You want one?" Ki asked.

"I never took you for a smoker is all," Darren replied.

"Oh," Ki sighed and threw her cigarette butt.

"Think your 'uncle', has a way of tracking down Merlot."
