Disclaimer: I don't own TSL, and Kristen is based on a real person (I hate these things. It's not like lawyers are online reading them all.)
Heeey! It's me, the Oreo Cookie, AKA The Chipmunk, posting her first story EVER! YAAAY!
(As I'm sure you all know, it's Halloween. I ate a lot of candy at school. I'm just a little hyper.)
Anyhoo, I actually wrote this story for a friend of my sister's... The main character, Kristen, is based on her. So let's see... All I have to say is don't flame (constructive criticism is accepted), and... um... yeah. Enjoy the story! )
"Kristen, we have something to tell you," Mrs. Jones said to her daughter with tears in her eyes.
"What, Mom?" Kristen asked, looking from her mother to her father and back again nervously.
The news hit her like a cannon. Shaking her head, she turned and ran to her room, tears streaming freely down her cheeks as she slammed the door and sobbed into a pillow all night long.
It had been three and a half months since Kristen's parents had broken the news to her about their divorce, but she still hadn't gotten over it. Her dad lived in a new apartment, and the house she and her mom had stayed in after he left seemed so empty. She felt numb all the time, and her grades had started slipping. After receiving her less-than-stellar report card at the end of the year, her mother had decided that Kristen just needed to get away. So they'd come here. To California.
"Okay, honey. I'm going to go look for something to get your grandmother for her birthday. Would you like to come with me or would you rather explore the mall on your own?" Kristen's mother asked.
"I'll just window shop for a while I guess," Kristen said, glancing around. The mall was a huge and sunny one. Everything seemed so chill. It would be nice to explore, she supposed. Her mother smiled, kissed her on the cheek and told her to be safe and spend her money wisely, and headed off. Kristen started down the long row of shops.
"I do need some new underwear…" Kristen said softly to herself, pausing in front of Victoria's Secret. Then she blushed, looking around to see if anyone had heard. There was the cute looking blonde boy down there but she didn't think he'd heard her…
"Wait…" she said suspiciously. The boy had on a cap and was standing outside of some video game store, speaking into an expensive-looking cell phone. He was dressed like he was about to go to a skate park. He appeared to be trying to seem unnoticeable, but she'd know him- or his brother- anywhere.
