My heart was beating out of control, and I'm pretty sure I wasn't breathing. I mean, I still can't believe I have Chad Dylan Cooper singing love songs to me. This kind of stuff just doesn't happen in real life.
So as he held me in his arms out in that blank field under the stars, I couldn't help but be scared. Because this is how the movies end, and I don't want this to end anytime soon.
I laid back on top of him and just stared into his beautiful eyes for who knows how long while he told me about some fairytale he read recently. Who knew my Chad was into fairytales?
Looking into his eyes reminds me of the ocean, so after he was done telling me about the book, I brought a story about the beach. He said we should go one day, but I didn't think he was serious. After all, this is where the story ends.
But we did end up going. About a year later he took me down to a small beach in Florida and we spent all day there, and most of the night. Laying in the sand under the stars, now that was where the story should end. We talked for a while and he told me about when his family lived in New York. I didn't know he was from New York so I asked more questions.
He told me they used to have picnics in central park and how beautiful the city was. He said it was nothing compared to me. He said we should go sometime, but once again, I didn't think he was serious.
We did end up going. About two years later he took me to the center of Central Park.
We laid down on the grass and talked for hours. He asked me where my favorite places in the wold is. I said with him.
He took me back to Central Park the next night. He told me how much he loved me. Now that was where the story was supposed to end.
I truly believed that so I started crying. He asked me what was wrong, but I couldn't tell him. So I said I just didn't want this moment to end.
He wrapped his arms around me and held me until I ran out of tears. Then he whispered in my ear, "Marry me." I agreed.
Even though I couldn't. The story had to end here.
But we did end up getting married. About six month later. He kissed me and promised me forever.
At that time, I had an amazing realization.
This wasn't a story. Therefore it didn't have to end. And now it won't.
