A/N: Well, all I can say is that I have a tendency to write fanfiction when I should be doing my school work. This was the result of a creative writing piece about belonging.

You watch the young man in a suit passing out coffees to the team. Quietly he sets one down in front of Tosiko, she gave him a small nod and whispered her thanks. But Ianto was already moving over to Gwen, placing her mug next to her. She picked it up and took a sip as if it had been there the whole time, not a word of thanks to Ianto she ignored the young man. You look at Ianto's face, there's not a hint that he's affected by the teams ignoring him, his perfectly composed.

You watch as Ianto places a third cup on the edge of the autopsy bay under the rail. You can help but wonder how long the team has been ignoring him. You don't think it can be all to do with the Lisa incident, but then again it do. Ever since then, Ianto's been quiet and withdrawn, more so than ever. He ghosts around the Hub, playing butler and hiding himself away from the world.

You so caught up your thoughts that you never saw him enter your office. A whisper of 'Jack' and your coffees in front of you and Ianto is gone. Looking up you see his retreating back "Thanks, Ianto. You're a life saver" you call out.

Gwen and Tosh look up from their computer screens but Ianto doesn't turn, he keeps walking back to his coffee machine. One last cup is sitting there, steaming. Gwen and Tosh have gone back to their work but you watch Ianto pick up the cup and sip the coffee. You watch the emotions play across his face, and just as fast as they came they were gone. His mask is firmly back in place.

You watch Ianto take his mug and walk towards the archives. As soon as his out of your sight, you swivel your chair towards the CTV and watch his progress until he reaches the archives. You lean back, arms behind your head.

You miss the old Ianto, the one that still had Lisa, still had secrets. The Ianto that would look at you and flirt with you.

You sit forward, maybe he needs time. Time heals all wound. But you know otherwise, time will only lessen the pain not heal it. Standing up you start to make your way to the archives, you're just past Tosh when the rift alarm goes off.

Reluctantly you turn back around and start issuing orders. As important as Ianto's health is, you have to save the world before you can save him.
