天の軽い眠り

The light slumber of Heaven

Mistress Hanako

Summary: (Sequel to: Water Grave for a Pure Mind) InuYasha constantly goes visit Kagome's "water grave"...where her body still lays, somehow not decaying...telling her secrets he had never told anyone, even though she is gone...Something mysterious happens, is she really dead, or alive?

A young inu-hanyou was in the forest, walking humbly. Towards a destination that you'd constantly see going to. Walking slowly, yet gently...not wanting to disturb any of natures' consent. InuYasha...was his name. Not too long ago, a death was recond here, and he was to come here often to visit "her."

"What you offered straight to me
With a smile for the last time
Was just so beautiful
That I gave way to tears "

InuYasha was walking his way towards the "water grave" his companion had made for the precious woman that had died recently. He was still in questions of her death and still all he can hear are inaudiable answers that was not telling him nothing. His eyes soften when he thought about the young maiden that had deceased into the other world...Kagome. She was a special person to him, and he had not realized it until now...when she is gone. All he ever did was hurt the young maiden.

"Surely, that day
The two of us touched love"

He remembered clearly what had happened that night as he left.

flash back

InuYasha sat in a tree as he was thinking off about what were the chances of him being with Kagome. The young girl who was sitting near the fire, staring at it. He saw the expression that had flowed through the maiden's eyes. Sadness, hurt, and loneliness. He knew that he had put them there. He looked up at the stars, wondering about how far they had come, since their journey. It had been three long, glamourous years spent with that girl...and he didn't know who to thank, her...or the gods that sent her down to held him when he needed her, comfort him when he was in need, or just to be there...though he would never say any of these words to her...he thought about them. Then his mind drifted off to Kikyo...InuYasha's long love that was now walking amongst the world in a clay body.

'Kikyo..'

He knew it, Kikyo still held apart of his heart that he was willing to give to Kagome. InuYasha would always adore the dead priestess...and he knew that Kagome had understood this, and backed away when it was this subject. InuYasha always knows that Kagome would never think about ruining him and Kikyo's relationship. He smiled sadly, Kagome had given up so many things for him...and he hadn't really done the same. He was grateful...and yet ashamed.

Kagome was a graceful person, and kind. She had allowed anyone to enter her world and yet, no matter how much you get to her, she had always made sure it was you that was smiling and not her. Kagome had always reassured InuYasha that no matter what was to happen...she was always by his side. Even when he ran off to Kikyo. And he had never thought about hurting her...all he wanted to do was to protect her with his actions...but InuYasha always knew...Kagome needed protection from her protector.

InuYasha had hurted Kagome way too far enough to not understand the concept of betrayal. And then that was when he looked up to find Kikyo's soul stealers wanting him to follow, find Kikyo...and be with her. So InuYasha obliged. He looked at Kagome knowing that she had seen them too, and she only nodded and turned away. He knew she was hurt, but he couldn't help himself...no matter how hard it was, he had an urge to follow...get to Kikyo, and just be with her.

InuYasha ran off, following and in the clearing of the trees, he had found Kikyo standing under neath a tree looking at him, straight in the eye. Wanting him to come over to her to embrace her. He obliged and then, in an instant...he had her in his loving arms. Holding her with his might, not wanting to let go.

"InuYasha..."Kikyo's cold harsh voice spoken.

"Yes, Kikyo?"InuYasha replied.

Kikyo pulled away, looking into InuYasha's amber orbs, sadly smiling.

"You know I have a duty here in this world, do you?"Kikyo spoke again. He nodded and she continued,"This may be the last time I see you..."

InuYasha pulled back,"How come?!"InuYasha practically shouted.

"The jewels is almost complete, and your duty to me...has been canceled. You don't belong to me anymore."Kikyo said. InuYasha looked guilty."You have given all your heart to Kagome, unknowingly. And I am glad that you have found your place."

"Kikyo...I did love you before."InuYasha said back to her. Kikyo shook her head.

"InuYasha, what you had felt...was a feeling of infatuation. Love comes from deep within the heart, not from the mind. You only 'thought' you loved me. And it was so noticeable...what you didn't notice was that Kagome had been in your heart from the very beginning, without you knowing it. Her unreable actions had made her way to your heart without your concent."Kikyo assured InuYasha and what she had said...was right. InuYasha didn't really noticed it, Kagome had been in his heart without him even knowing it."And by you coming to see me everytime, it must be hurting her so much that she doesn't seem to care, knowing that you will no matter what she says...am I correct?"

InuYasha thought about it for a minute before speaking, yes Kagome did just let him come...even when she knew that she was about to hurt and feel the pain of heartache...she had let him come, choosing never to interfere with him. And at the thought of this...it made him more sad to think about it."Yes, Kagome did."

Kikyo had laid her head down onto his chest, holding him softly and thinking about her and InuYasha's situation."We...were never meant for eachother."

"Kikyo, no matter what. I had loved you and I believed it. It had taken me thus afar from reality and made me a happy man at first."InuYasha mention, Kikyo nodded.

The bitterness of her voice was heard as she spoke,"But InuYasha, Kagome has made you a happy man without her even trying."

InuYasha held onto Kikyo tightly before letting go, letting the better of him take over."Kikyo, I understand. Kagome has been here for me...and you must be hurting inside knowing that she had been here..."

"Yes InuYasha, I am hurt...but more than glad knowing that Kagome had taken my place, even when she wasn't trying. Don't you see or get it, InuYasha? Kagome is an unreadable person, she came WITHOUT knowing it, she UNKNOWINGLY made her way to your heart WITHOUT knowing it, and she...is hurting herself WITHOUT knowing it! Kagome deserves the happiness she shall recieve and I leave her in your hands! I want what's best for you two."InuYasha was shocked at first, not knowing anything about this...then thought about it, Kagome really did do something that InuYasha never thought of...made him happy.

"I understand,Kikyo."InuYasha smiled and let go of Kikyo's frail body. She smiled sadly and started walking away.

"Now you take good care of the young priestess, you two have my blessings."With that said Kikyo had walked away. InuYasha smiled, he was glad he had realized it, and grateful that Kikyo had told him. But he knew he can never say any of these things to Kagome, himself.

It was near morning and InuYasha had decided to go to camp and talk to Kagome, hoping she had felt the same. InuYasha walked to the clearing...

end flashback

InuYasha thought about that day, the way Kikyo had shown him his better self. Told him the unnoticeable, and read his mind. Sadly...it was a conversation not brung up, since the death of Kagome.

"We sought for each other
Lost ourselves at times
And found each other at last
So whatever result may be waiting for us"

He had met his destination. The water grave of Kagome and her pure mind. Kagome...InuYasha had never really noticed it until now, Kagome...his love, oh how he had missed her beauty, her touch, her smile, her laughter, and just her. With everything he had in this world, he would give up just to hear her say something to him again.

"It's nothing but
Destiny..."

"Kagome...I have come, another day to see you. You know how I have missed you so much."InuYasha said...looking down at the body that lied down in the river. It was mysterious how ever since Kagome's death, the water had stop the rushing, the place had cherry blossoms around it and the sun always gleamed down to her porcelain skin. But then he finally noticed it, Kagome had a sad smile on her face. He felt tears forming...and they dripped into the water of the young woman's deathly home.

And then suddenly, a strange peck of light was over throwned into the air. After that everything went back to normal and it all have shookened the poor hanyou of what just happened. He then thought he saw a figure sitting over at the rocks and he looked up to find none other than...her. She was wearing a white robe and she was radiating light around her. An outer glow of fascination. What? Who? Why? He was utterly confused.

"la la la la la la la la la la
la la la la la la la la la la "

"K-Kagome..?"InuYasha chocked. Kagome's translucent face turned to him and smiled softly, her image almost invisible.

"InuYasha..."You can hear the sweetness of her voice.

"H-How...?! I thought...!!"InuYasha was really confused. What had happen and why is she here now? Kagome's high pitched giggle was heard, music to InuYasha's ears.

"Don't think too much InuYasha, it's not good for you."Kagome stated and InuYasha smiled abit."As you can see, I had just recently slept for the past few weeks, months, or days...whichever you call it. After that incident of the water, I had thought I died, but I was just mearly in a coma. A light slumber in heaven you can say. The gods had said to me that I have taken so much time in the past three years that they would pamper me with a light sleep, to heal my wounds."Kagome explained and InuYasha got it."But no!! You had to wake me up with your tear."InuYasha chuckled at her sillyness. Her pouting face was utmost adorable. He ran over to where she was seated and pulled her into his arms.

"In the sky you set out for
Stars are shining tenderly upon me..."

Inhaling her wonderful scent, and nuzzling his head into her neck. Oh, how he had long for this day...

"Don't you ever do that again you hear!"InuYasha scolded. Kagome giggled and shifted her position.

"Stay by my side, my love
Crossing over time and changing your shape
You see? The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here like this..."

"Is that the 'welcome back' I get for being away?"Kagome asked curiously. InuYasha pulled back, looking into Kagome's brown chestnut eyes. Smiling sadly yet...happily.

"Yes...but this is far from better."InuYasha pulled Kagome to a light tender kiss that Kagome had always wanted...as for he also. He pulled back hugging her to him dearly,"Don't ever leave me again."He pleaded softly and stiffled a soft sob.

"I will never, I promise."Kagome said hugging him back tightly, she remember then. Pulling back with a sad, hurt, and worried expression."But Kikyo--!!"

InuYasha smiled then answered her."She wishes us the best. She told me to take good care of you." Kagome too shocked to say anything or feel anything until she felt a heavy surpression on her lips, only to figure InuYasha had kissed her again. She kissed back and held onto him tightly."You know that Miroku, Sango, Kirara, Shippou and even Kaede-baba will be wanting an explanation when we get back."

"Stay by my side, my love
Crossing over time and changing your shape
The future we haven't yet seen
Remains here..."

"Mmmm...let's stay like this for a while."Kagome said still holding on to InuYasha. He laughed silently and held her also.

"...Kagome. I love you with all my heart, and apologize for whatever I have done in the past to hurt you."InuYasha manage to say.

"No don't be, the past is always forgiven..."Kagome stated and InuYasha nodded."...Daisuki." InuYasha was glad to hear that and pulled Kagome into a most fierce kiss, you could imagine. Oh how he had waited too long to hear that. His world...was finally complete!

"Trust me, my love
You live within me
So I'll never
Say good-bye to you..."

The cherry blossoms falling as the two lovers held eachother in a kiss that would complete heaven and earth. Happiness was for them both, and nothing would stop it. The both deserved eachother, the young priestess and inu-hanyou. They say in the legends that their love was still in presence at the stream, even though it had been more than 500 years.

"Surely, that day
The two of us touched love..."

Their love had been everlasting, even in a light slumber of heaven...you can still sense the happiness of happiness between the two. Kagome's light slumber of heaven.

OWARI! So there you have it. The sequel. I know it's not the best, but don't be too much of a critic, but please tell me if I got any spelling errors! Arigatou! Oh, the song is Ayumi Hamasaki - Heaven. Listen to it, it matches perfectly, hopefully.XD
