The Funeral
Remus and Sirius, stood above the coffins. Inside was their Friends. James and Lily Potter. Sirius was holding a small Baby. Remus took the baby and sat down. Sirius turned to The congregation.
"Today is a sad day. We are laying my lifelong friends to rest. We wouldn't be if the dark lord Voldemort had shown mercy!"
He said the last few words with hatred in them and many people Gasped or shuddered.
"James and Lily were just starting life as a family. Now they will never see their beautiful son, Harry, grow to be a great wizard like his father. We will miss them dearly!"
Sirius was meant to let Remus talk but he kept going.
"The pain I feel..." he took a deep breath "is...is unbearable. James was never away from me. During school, holidays and come to think of it he still is here. He will live on in mind, heart and soul. He will never leave us!"
He took his seat and Remus stood up. His eyes were red and watery. A tear
Rolled down his cheek.
"James was the first person I knew. In the most difficult times, he stayed
and helped me and anyone else through. I wish I could've been there that fateful night. No words come close to describing the hatred we feel towards the dark side right now. Especially to our childhood friend Peter Pettigrew. I am ashamed to say we were friends. If he hadn't been so stupid, you would All be sitting happily at home!"
Sirius was crying, as quiet as possible.
"In school, James used to write stories and poems about events, so he could tell his children. One night he wrote one because one of his girl friends had lost a auntie. He didn't know that it would be the same fate for him. Here it is..."
He took a small piece of parchment from his pocket and held back his tears.
"Home is Behind, The world ahead, And there are many Paths to tread, Through shadow To the edge of night, Until the stars are All alight, Mist and shadow, Cloud and shade, All shall fade, All shall..."
He looked up and said in pain
"fade"
he dropped to his knees and sobbed. Sirius walked over to him and they watched the coffins being carried away.
