Once In A Lifetime

The skies were blue and the grass green, children were laughing and everything seemed alright. Yet, Naruto couldn't find peace within himself. Staring at the Hokages' faces he wondered if they had to make such a difficult decision like this, before they were even Hokage.
Sighing, he sat there trying to find a way to reason out whatever decision he would make.
"Naruto," a voice spoke behind him.
Not even turning around Naruto asked, "What are you doing here Sasuke?"
"I came to talk to you..." Sasuke started off hesitantly, "I heard about the council's decision."
"It seems even now they don't want me to be happy..." Naruto murmured.
"Are you seriously thinking about giving up Hokage just to be with me, dobe. Don't be make a stupid choice, you wanted this long before we were even friends." Sasuke told him.
Standing up, Naruto turned and faced Sasuke. He was looking at up at the sky, avoiding Naruto's gaze.
"So you would give up our relationship, to let me be Hokage..." Naruto whispered.
"This is your dream Naruto, this is your only opportunity, if you give it up you won't get a second chance," he replied.
Turning away, Naruto began walking back to the Hokage's office.
"Bye, Naruto," Sasuke whispered.
For a second Naruto stopped, but then continued walking. He wanted to be Hokage, right?
Sasuke was sitting at his table, a hot cup of tea sitting before him, when Naruto entered.
Surprised at his sudden appearance Sasuke stood up.
"What are you doing here," he asked.
"I always stay here don't I, it's much more comfortable than my old place," was Naruto's answer. Casually walking into the living room, he sat down and waited for Sasuke to follow.
"You don't live here anymore, Naruto," Sasuke sounded exasperated as he stepped into the living room a second later.
Raising an eyebrow, Naruto's lip twitched, "Are you kicking me out?"
Groaning, " God dammit Naruto! You are Hokage and the fucking council said a male relationship is bad publicity. Remember! You can't be seen with me anymore!"
"That's true, if I were Hokage."
"Nar- wait a minute, what!" Sasuke yelled.
"I told them no. Don't be a baka, Sasuke."
"What the fuck, what do you mean you told them no! This was a once in a lifetime opportunity and you gave it up!"
"No, I took it," Naruto stated calmly.
"You just said you told them no," Sasuke said, irritated.
Naruto sighed, "I did, I took a different opportunity."
Standing up Naruto walked over to the confused and irritated Sasuke.
"Yeah, and what was that," Sasuke asked.
"The opportunity to be with you," Naruto answered before kissing him.
AN – I always figured that if Naruto was told to be given the choice between love and the Hokage position he would take love right? I mean the only reason he ever wanted to be Hokage was about acceptance and love is the ultimate form of that. Minor editing, all grammar.
