YU YU HAKUSHO:
There Were Roses
a Kurama story
This story is told to you from the point of Yusuke, based on the old song "There Were Roses".
Disclaimer: i do not own yu yu hakusho or there were roses.
My story for you this evening, it's not to make you sad.
Just listening to the words might help this troubled land.
But lately I've been thinking, it just won't leave my mind...
about two friends i'd had, they were both good friends of mine.
Now Kurama, he was a demon, and Kazuma, human-born,
but it never made a difference, for the friendship, it was strong.
And even over all the wars, we made a solemn drawn.
That we would always stay friends, we would always be as one...
There were roses, roses...
There were roses...
And the tears of all beings ran together...
It was on a Monday morning when the awful news came round
Another demon had been killed in Kurama's hometown,
We knew Kurama spent time there, he really liked the band,
and when we heard that he was dead...we just could not understand.
The fear filled the spirit world, there was fear in every home
when late at night the demons came, prowlin round on my road.
A human would be killed tonight, to even out the score...
Oh christ, it's Kazuma they've taken from the door.
There were roses, roses...
There were roses...
And the tears of all beings ran together...
Kazuma pleaded for his life, he cried far and near
but centuries of hatred have ears that do not hear
an eye for an eye, it was all that filled their minds,
and another eye for another eye, until everyone is blind.
Now I don't know where the moral is, or where i should end,
but i wonder just how many wars are fought between good friends?
And those who give the orders are not the ones to die
It's Kurama and Kazuma
and the likes of you and i.
There were roses, roses...
There were roses...
And the tears of all beings ran together...
