One Touch – ONE SHOT – BANKOTSU X KAGOME

I wrote this for Tempest76 whose bday is today! Happy Birthday! XD

Kagome ran deep into the forest not caring if anyone was following her. She felt like her life was ruined. She had just caught Inuyasha confessing his love to Kikyo.

"I am so blind! I mean how could I be so stupid? I thought he would love me instead but no! He is and has ALWAYS been in love with Kikyo!"

She remembered the kiss well. She watched from behind as tree as Inuyasha confessed his love to Kikyo and then swept her up in an embrace.

For Kagome, that was the last straw. There was no way she was going back to him. No way. She had made a decision. She would defeat Naraku on her own and go back to her own time.

"That way I cannot interfere in their lives….I am on my own now it looks like"

Kagome yelped as she tripped over what she thought was a tree limb. She landed on the ground with a large THUD.

When she came to, Kagome rubbed her head and her eyes widened as she seen who she had tripped over.

Right there, next to the tree, was the leader of the Band of Seven, Bankotsu, sleeping.

Backing away slowly hoping he did not notice her, Kagome watched him in pure awe. She blinked as he shifted a bit in his sleep.

"For a mercenary, he sure looks peaceful while he is sleeping."

Kagome touched his face gently. She blinked as he snuggled against her touch. She smiled as she thought," Wow. He is so strong and peaceful."

She blinked as Bankotsu opened his eyes and stared at her. She muttered," I am sorry. Look I need to be going" as she left. She blinked as Bankotsu grabbed her arm.

Looking at the younger woman, Bankotsu said," Lie stay. Tell me what is bothering you so much."

Kagome stared at the mercenary for a while and then sat down. She said," Inuyasha does not love me. He is in love with Kikyo."

Bankotsu blinked and then thought to himself," So now she is on her own eh?"

Standing up, Kagome said," Sorry to waste your time but I must be going now."

Grabbing her arm, Bankotsu said," Lie wait! Let me take care of you! Let me be your shield!"

Kagome blinked as Bankotsu put her in his lap and held her close to him.

Tired from running so much, she snuggled next to the mercenary for a long nap. She did not care what anyone else thought. For her this was her moment to be loved.
