Miotaro Fanfiction
"But, hey, at least she's open minded!"
"Shut up…"
Satoshi had the most ridiculous smile on his face, talking to Hotaro at the end of school, as they sat in their usual seats in the back of the classroom.
"Just, ask her out already." Satoshi spent plenty of time on each word, emphasizing how much he wanted it to happen.
"I already said, you idiot, that she's not for me. We're not even the same type; Chitanda is a bit crazy, and I hate doing anything. Plus, asking her out would take up too much of my energy."
"Aw, don't be silly. But, I'm not gonna argue any further. It seems you're stuck to your decision, so I'll leave you. I got to cook dinner tonight, which means getting home early. Meet tomorrow?"
"Same place," replied Hotaro. "Same time, I guess. I don't really care all that much."
He watched Satoshi walk out of the room, and took out a book. He didn't plan on leaving soon. It was too early.
"Simon," Said Baz. "How long are you going to be practicing that one spell?"
The late afternoon sun was shining in through the window. Hotaro had been lost in the world of Simon Snow, not realizing what time it was already. It was 7. He had to go home, or else his mother would scold him.
He got up and walked toward the door. He opened it with a bit of force. There was a small sound, almost like a girl squealing with excitement.
But it was a girl squealing with fear.
She had long, black hair, and was wearing the school uniform. It seemed pretty normal to Hotaro; a lot of girls liked to have their hair long, and you were required to wear the uniform.
She stopped squealing when she realized that it was only a person that slammed the door opened, and looked up. Her eyes were slightly dark, and the hair was separated in the front.
Hotaro blushed.
"Ah, um, sorry about that," She said. Her voice had a sweet tone to it, unlike most girls. It had something special. "I was about to walk home from club activities, but I had to get something from the counseling office…" The voice trailed off at that point.
"Sorry for scaring you," Hotaro said. "I shouldn't have opened the door so forcefully."
"Don't apologize. It's my fault for being scared." She made a little smile. "And, by the way, my name is Mio."
Mio.
"Hotaro." He replied. It would be rude not to.
"Well, I'm going to go. It was nice meeting you, in this odd way, Hotaro." Her saying his name made him feel partially special. "I'll see you later some time, okay?"
"Okay, see ya."
She walked off in the direction of the band room.
"H-hey, um, you're going the wrong way. The counseling office is in that direction." Hotaro pointed in the opposite direction.
"Ah, um, thank you…." She blushed, put her head down, and walked in the right direction.
Hotaro was really confused; his face was hot, and he was blushing. His heart was beating fast, and he had the odd urge to see her again.
He looked in the mirror, to see that his hair was messed up. It didn't matter. All that mattered to him at the moment was sleep. And sleep is what he did.
