I was talking to a colleague
-well, I
guess you could call him that
-but to be
a colleague one is normally in the same field
-and I
suppose we are, we both deal with the same children
-but for
different reasons
-anyways
I was talking to him and he said I was lucky
To be the nurse
Because
everyone likes me
I laughed
-he was
startled
-I don't
suppose anyone's laughed at him in a while
-at least
not in front of him
-anyways
I said he was the lucky one
He was the professor
He got to see them everyday
He got to ask them questions
And watch them squirm when they didn't know the answer
He sneered at me
-he looked
amused
-he
remembered the pleasure of it
-I know he
likes it
-anyways
He told me that he'd rather have my job
That it was better than his
And I laughed again
And told him he was confused
That it was hard to cure the children
And not ask questions
When they come to me problems
-like
backwards feet
-or
enlarged noses
-or in a
different body
-or
poisoned
-anyways
He smiled with his cold smile
And said that he'd trade anytime
If I would learn potions
