Chapter 1
"Are you sure you don´t want me to fly?" Clint asked with a small frown.
"Naah, I got this", Coulson declared without looking back to the man sitting next to him. "Lights, check. Gas, check... Start?" he mumbled and pressed whatever buttons that seemed funny enough.
"Maybe Barton should fly, just in case", Fury, who was watching the two of them from behind all the time, suggested.
Coulson's face twisted in a way that Clint could tell is his 'not amused'-look. "No, I remember how to do this, just give me a moment and we can-"
"Phil," Fury sighed and rubbed a hand over his face. "We'll be here even tomorrow if you don't let Barton take over now. No offence."
Without saying anything further, Coulson rised from the pilot's seat and walked away.
Clint raised a silent eyebrow at Fury who only shrugged in response, "Let's go, he'll get over it eventually."
Bruce got back to his cabin after a long day at work in a reindeer farm. Before he could reach for his keys, he noticed that the door had been forced open. He heard murmuring from inside and stood outside the door for a moment, conteplating whether to go in or not . With a little doubt, he pushed the door open and stepped inside.
"I'm not exactly surprised to see you here", he mentioned as he saw Fury and Coulson, sitting on his sofa and mindlessly watching tv.
Fury only snorted in responce, while Coulson gave an apologetic smile.
"What is rye bread?" a voice from the kitchen asked and it took him a few calming breaths to keep his cool as he saw Clint Barton, a.k.a Hawkeye, going through his cabinets.
"It's kind of like.. Healthy bread."
After receiving a raised eyebrow from the man he sighs, "Nevermind. What are you all doing here, anyway?"
"S.H.I.E.L.D got kinda distroyed, so we decided it would be a good time to take vacation", explained Coulson whilst he changed the channels.
"So, tell me Bruce, Why Lapland?" asked Fury and finally made eye contact with the man who was still standing near the open door, and who was now gaping at Coulson like a fish out of water.
After a minute or so, Bruce shook his head – sometimes it was just better not to ask – and answered, "Well, it's really beautiful around here." He closed the door as well as he could with the broken lock and everything, and for the first time after seeing the three men in his cottage, smiled. "And I really like reindeers."
"Reindeers... I don't like them", Clint muttered, "They always remind me of something... Horny."
Fury gave the youngest man a glare while Coulson had a hard time biting back a laugh.
