It was a breezy summer morning in a small town near London, England. It was one of those mornings in which you feel like lying in the grass and think about no tomorrow.

Rory Gilmore was looking out of one of the huge draped windows of her grandparent's home, which most people would call a decent sized mansion. She had a certain longing for the scene as described above at her now home. She was a writer for the London Times and had her own column, which was a huge hit and also wrote stories that sparked her interest. Her column ranged in topics from advice to little tidbits of information to little short stories that she made up.

Looking about the dinner party her grandmother, Emily, was hosting, she found some familiar faces but was more comfortable looking out the window, absorbed in her own thoughts.

"Rory…Rory, come over here. I have some very nice friends whom I'd like you to meet."

Startling her out of her thoughts, she glanced in the direction of her grandmother's voice. Standing with her were a somewhat elderly couple and a man about her age. She inwardly groaned. Her grandmother was trying to set her up for the umpteenth time. This was nothing new.  Even though she and her husband, Richard, liked to brag about Rory and her achievements, Emily thought that Rory should find a nice young man of high society and well bringing and settle down with a family. Unfortunately, her mother, Lorelei, wasn't here to get her out of this one with one of her infamous beloved antics.

Slowly making her way toward her grandmother and company, Rory prepared herself for the inevitable. Most likely than not, some sort of date would be proposed and she would be inclined to accept out of politeness. As she approached them, she duly noticed that the man was quite tall but not extremely so and was quite handsome with dark chocolate brown hair, a muscular frame, and chiseled features.

"Rory, there you are. Let me introduce you to Andrew and Cynthia Bergley. Oh and this their son, very handsome and accomplished young man may I add," Emily gave Rory a nudge and a wink, " Nathan Bergley."

" Please, call me Nate and I can assure you that on behalf of my parents and myself, it's a pleasure to meet you." Nate or Nathan gave Rory a charming smile.

Concealing the urge to roll her eyes, Rory instead replied by politely saying, "It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance also. Emily then suggested on Rory showing Nathan the gardens. Rory feeling that it would be impolite and upset her grandmother if she refused, took it upon herself to show Nate the gardens.
