Summary – Post Goodbye and Good luck. After Grissom reads the letter…

Author's Note – I'm back! And completely depressed that Sara's leaving. But I was glad that they kissed!'

Grissom put the letter down in shock, his glasses falling to the floor. She was gone. Sara, his life, was gone? Didn't he know that he would have been able to help her chase away any demons that she was still holding onto? That he would have followed her to the ends of the earth? Evidently not, and wasn't that one of his sayings, that the evidence never lied? Grissom chuckled grimly to himself, fighting tears that wanted to fall, he was stunned, completely stunned. Since they had met on that brilliant San Francisco morning, he hadn't been able to imagine his life without her. And then she was just…gone. When she had kissed him in the hall he had known that something was up with him, hell she hated PDA's! He re-read the letter, not believing his eyes. She couldn't be gone.

Grissom jogged out to the parking lot, not bothering to grab anything but his keys. Getting into the car after a quick scan of the parking lot, he left, driving home as quickly as the traffic laws would allow. Sara's car was still in the driveway, which was a good sign, she could still be there, or this could all just be a very bad dream. He slammed the door as he got out, tears finally unchecked down his cheeks. He unlocked the front door to his and Sara's home, ignoring the fact the door was locked, and her shoes were not at the door, and her coat wasn't hung over the arm of the sofa.

"Sara?" He called, an edge of panic to his voice. "Sara, where are you?" A completely childish thing to say on his part, especially when all of the evidence showed that she was gone, but he wasn't thinking straight, hell, he could hardly walk for all his tears were blinding his. "C'mon darling," he sobbed, stumbling up the stairs. "Answer me, damn it!" He opened the bedroom door, falling on his knees when he saw no sign of her.

"You can't be gone," he mumbled as he punched the floor. "You just can't be."

He picked himself up off of the floor, pulling of his clothing as he walked into the bathroom, turning the shower on by autopilot. Gil stepped under the scorching spray, letting the hot water soak him and wash away his tears. Sara was gone, but it still smelled of her. Her shampoo, body wash, even her shaving gel, seeing them all there, arranged neatly in the shower, was to much for him. Grissom stepped out of the shower, rubbing a towel over himself quickly, tearing up as he did so. Sara had picked the towels…

Grissom stumbled back into the bedroom, pulling only on his discarded boxers, before falling into bed, erupting into fresh sobs. He hugged Sara's pillow close to his chest as he fell into Morpheus' embrace. She just couldn't be gone…

All the cracks they lead right to me
And all the cracks will crawl right through me
All the cracks they lead right to me
And all the cracks will crawl right through me
And they'll part

Author's Note – Short, I know, but I wanted to get it out tonight. Thank you all for reading!
