Under the bright night sky, Haku sits upon he and Zabuza's house, in the deep woods that surround the Waterfall Village. He thinks back on his day of harsh training, wondering if the training has gotten harder or if he has become softer.

Lost in his thoughts of becoming stronger for his master, his senses failed to aware him of the new presence.

"What are you pondering over so hard?" questioned a soft, airy voice.

Recognizing the voice, Haku merely glance to his left, were the voice had drifted from. In the gleaming lunar light he see the mysterious night time companion that has been invading his night, not to mention his dreams and thoughts, for the past few months. Flowing crimson hair, stormy grey eyes, a petite yet curvy frame. All these words described the girl known as Makoto, the female that seemed to have just appeared and as easily disappear from Haku's nights.

"Just training." was Haku's simple reply.

"What exactly about it?" Makoto questioned in an interested tone.

"Only wondering if it's become to hard for me to make master proud. Why do you want to know?" Haku countered in a challenging tone.

With a melodious scoff, she answers. "Having none my own, your's has always interested me." Adding a sincere smile afterwards to let him know she wasn't being rude, but stating a fact.

Grinning back reassuringly at her, he realized her statement brought about a long unanswered question to him mind. "You always state you have no prior training, but you seem to continuously catch me off my guard. How is that?"

A soft snicker left the girl, "Maybe if you weren't so spaced out when I decided to pop up, it wouldn't like I were ambushing you, like the amazing ninja you really are." Makoto complimented, nudging Haku's shoulder with her.

His face lit up with a bright smile at her humorous compliment, feel proud that she viewed him in that light. Wrapping his arm around her shoulders, not noticing they both seemed to have a faint matching blush, and bringing her close to his body.

Enjoying the warmth he provided, she shifted to lay her head on his shoulder. Looking up to the stars, she sighed and breathily said, "Have you ever wanted to be a star."

Smiling once again at the girl who has made her way into his heart, he looked up at what she was gazing upon. "I don't believe so, them being a ball of dead gas and all." He squeezed her shoulder, letting her know the comment was all in good fun.

Breathing out a laugh, she glanced at him with a mocking grin. "I didn't mean scientifically, I meant to have the amazing function they hold." Still facing Haku, Makoto smiled more sincerely at his confused look she explained. "Watching over everyone and looking over things that the human mind couldn't possibly imagine."

It almost made Haku jealous, her speaking so passionately over something a simple as the stars. He takes his arm from her shoulder and faces her. This is the moment he always dreams about, she is in a passionate happy mood. All he has to do is turn to her…and she had slipped away like every other time. Like she was never even there in the first place, a breeze, only there to leave without your say so.

Well there's always tomorrow.
