For Calendar. Team 7 and the things that tie them together.
1. theories
He had a theory.
Sakura's life was bound with his. In another world, he probably would've loved her. In this world, he couldn't help but put her away on a shelf beside the container labelled "regret." In another world, he would've stayed.
(he was going to miss her smile, her tears, and the life they could've shared).
But in this world, his closest friend was Naruto. Naruto, who laughed without sadness, who always failed but never gave up. In another world, they probably wouldn't even know one another. In this world, he put Naruto away in the dusty closet beside a broken bottle labelled "dreams."
(he was going to miss his laughter, his optimism, and the happiness they had shared).
2. tears
He didn't like girls that cried. They make him nervous and edgy and he's always scared that it's his fault that they're crying.
When Sakura cried, he knew that it Sasuke's fault and that made him angry. Sasuke didn't deserve her love. He was selfish and arrogant, and he made Sakura cry. But He couldn't hate Sasuke. Sasuke was one of his most precious persons, someone that he'd fight with, and someone that he'd die for.
(he was going to kill sasuke for making her cry).
Sakura was also one of his most precious persons. He'd fight and even die for her. But with Sakura, it was different; he loved Sakura without abandon, without reason. He loved her, even though he hated girls that cried. He loved her, even though she didn't love him. He loved her because he couldn't see himself loving anyone else.
(he was going to bring him back so he could see sakura's smile again).
3. puzzles
When Sasuke left, she felt her heart break into little tiny pieces. When Naruto returned, he helped her crazy glue it back together. Some parts didn't fit quite right, but she loved him all the more for that.
Then Sasuke came back, snorted and unwound Naruto's careful mending so that he could piece it together the correct way. It hurt and he made no apologies for it, but she loved him for that anyway.
(If she were anyone else, she would've felt bad about falling so deeply, madly, insanely in love with the both of them; instead, she felt as if things had finally come together).
