This is my first written story in a rather long time. Constructive criticism please. Enjoy.
Disclaimer: I own only the plot, and the character of Telum. The rest is owned by DC and Warner Bros.

Prologue
—
The moon looked wonderful as it shone down over the small forest, casting a warm glow over the trees, creating the long shadows that stretched out over the water's edge. The bay curved around the tree line smoothly while the water stayed perfectly still. It was silent, if not for the noises of the night; Crickets, the slow evening breeze, and the rustling of the trees.
A flash of bright flame, and a piercing cacophony permeate the air as the forest is lit ablaze. A hail of gunshots follow, as the flame begins to settle into a long burn. A figure darts from the tree line to the water and tears a cloth away from an expertly cloaked boat. The sudden hum of the engine joins the growing noise, and soon, the boat is making its way from the shore, across the bay; the water turning white in its wake.
Red Arrow turns his head, as the boat moves through the water, checking to see how long it takes before they follow him.
Damn. I knew I missed one.
He turns back to from the bay again as a new engine roars to life behind him. He leans forward and picks up the bungee chords in front of him and ties them around the tiller, keeping the boat heading straight. He removes his bow from his back and takes an arrow from the quiver, sliding the ring on the head of the arrow until he hears a click. He latches the arrow into his bowstring and starts to draw the arrow as he turns back to face the oncoming boat.
As he turns, a searing pain erupts on his cheek, and the arrow flies from the bow. He clutches at his face; the bullet had only grazed him, but he began to bleed. It had come too close. The boat behind him burst into a brilliant red flare, and his brow furrowed.
I could've sworn I missed that shot.
He shrugged it off and reached into a pouch on his belt, pulling out a small white square. He pressed it against the wound on his cheek, his skin absorbing it almost instantly, and he let out a small sigh. It would still be a few hours before it fully healed, but he could concentrate a little easier now. He checked behind him again, and saw several men swim from the wreckage of the boat to the shore of the bay. He took the bungees away from the steering device and took control again.

As the boat bounced along the surface of the water, the sound of the engine started to die down, until eventually, the boat was neither visible nor audible. Telum stood at the tree line, the corners of her mouth turning up into a small smirk. She bent down and picked up the arrow dug into the ground, and removed the circular tip, revealing a regular arrow head. She broke it off, and twirled the head slowly in her fingers as she turned and walked into the forest.
