Declaration of Independence
When, in the course of a witch's life, it becomes necessary to disturb the status quo of the society of the magic using people to grant rights to those who have had their rights limited and to create a new society in which the bombastic speeches of incapable Ministers will be recognized as that and to educate young, inbred idiots to the virtues of the Muggle society which outnumbers our own and to abolish the hated system of slavery which binds magical creatures and prevents them from adding to the wisdom of human magic users and to propel the wizarding world into the twenty-first century.
We hold these truths to be self-evident: That the bumbling Ministers' incompetency has caused the deaths of hundreds and the hands of the Dark Lord styling himself as Voldemort; that all wizards and witches have the right to an equal education and to teachers that treat all students fairly despite the students' blood status; that Muggle technology has far surpassed Wizard's own through virtue of their inventiveness; that the Wizarding world is torn into warring factions; that the Wizarding world would greatly benefit from the wisdom of the magical creatures to whom a lower status has been assigned. Intelligence will dictate that only a fool would not recognize the great potential which governmental reform has to convert the hidden world of magic for a better, more unified system. The patience of the sufferers has been great, but at last the time for change has arrived. The present government's failing are as many as the stars in the sky. To prove this, let the facts be presented to the wondering world.
The Minister of Magic blinded himself to the rise of the Dark Lord who styles himself as Voldemort, and refused to acknowledge the truth until forced to by the sight of the above said Dark Lord battling against Dumbledore in the Ministry's bowels.
The Ministry of Magic denied to students who could not prove their blood status an education.
The teachers at the institutes established for the purpose of instructing students have been biased against other students for purposes of personality and blood. The premier school in this country, Hogwarts, has allowed students to be segregated by blood and personality types for centuries, since its very founding.
The Wizarding World in general has failed to recognize the merits of our Muggle neighbors and has remained stubborn in the use of magic for all things, despite the easier Muggle methods of accomplishing the same goal.
The Wizarding World's prejudices against those of Muggle descent have caused the deaths of thousands when this simple prejudice could have been healed by a more attentive government and education about the Muggles whose blood is despised.
The magical creatures that have been oppressed by the wizards in control of the society have much to offer. These creatures have much knowledge which they have declined to share with wizards because of the arrogance displayed by wizards at every turn. The sentient creatures with whom humans can communicate deserve a say in the government which affects them by passing laws to regulate them.
Those in power have allowed themselves to be influenced by bribery and coercion.
Therefore, we the members of the magical community do not hesitate to condemn our current government and establish a new one. We declare our independence from the poor potentates and insipid incompetents.
