Mr. and Mrs. Malfoy of Malfoy Manor were proud to say they were perfectly pure-blooded thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to have any smirch on their name at all because they just didn't hold with such nonsense.
Mr. Malfoy was a lobbyist with much influence in the British Ministry of Magic. He had a pale face and aquiline nose, although he did have very long, silvery blond hair that he sometimes pulled back away from his face with a ribbon. Mrs. Malfoy was a fair-haired woman with a strikingly beautiful face that usually was twisted into some sort of disdainful grimace at the rest of those unfortunates existing below her. The Malfoys had a small son called Draco and in their opinion there wasn't a finer boy anywhere.
The Malfoys had everything they wanted, but they also had a secret, and one of their greatest fears was that somebody would point it out. They didn't think they could bear it if someone talked about the Tonkses. Mrs. Tonks was Mrs. Malfoy's sister, but they hadn't met for several years; in fact, Mrs. Malfoy pretended that she didn't have that particular sister, because she and her good-for-nothing husband were almost as unMalfoyish as it was possible to be. The Malfoys shuddered to think what their friends would say if the Tonkses arrived at the gates. The Malfoys knew that the Tonkses had a small daughter, too, but they had never even seen her. This girl was another good reason for keeping the Tonkses away; they didn't want Draco mixing with a child like that.
