Empty Encounter
The echo of flesh meeting flesh pounded the vacant corridor, leaving behind the whispers of pain and a sharp stinging. Regulus Black felt blood ooze out of his mouth, trickling down his lips and his eyes glue to the stone wall ahead of him, his neck in pain from the whiplash he could've received from the force of the beating. He heard the angered pants, the muttered curses and the trembling feet of his brother, whose arm was extended beyond him and was glaring sharp daggers at the younger boy.
The shuffle of clothes, and Sirius's arm was lowered with a low, sharp hiss of seething anger. Slowly, Regulus craned his neck, his eyes as wide as dinner plates that couldn't be reduced. He stared- shocked more than surprised- at the older boy who had tears spilling- surprising more than shocking- down his livid eyes.
"Fool."
He spat. The swish of the cloak, and the footsteps echoed away into blank nothingness of a memory that had just taken place. His eyes started to close, his lashes caressing his stinging cheek, and he spat out the blood that filled his mouth. Bitter and rusted. He watched as the crimson darkness wreathed on the floor before vanishing it with the swish of a wand, erasing all evidence of anything that might have taken place in that empty corridor that heavy night.
AN: I wrote this as the encounter between them when Sirius found out Reg's a death eater, but, I couldn't fit that in- it felt like forcing a puzzle piece to the wrong area, so I left it out. Now that i think about it, this scene can be flexible to any moment between the two, whether Reg said something about purity, insulted James or something... hmmm... anyways, enough with the rambling- review?
