DECEPTION
"No! Kate! Let go of me!"
The detective stared back coolly as the other suit clamped a beefy hand down onto the struggling writer's only free arm.
"No! Kate! I didn't do it! Tell them I didn't do it!"
Yanking an arm free, he stretched out for her but she stepped out of his reach. The two men dragged him back, away from her, heading to the elevator, but he kept his eyes trained on her emotionless face, pleading. She met his gaze with her own cold, careless own, confusion clouding his expression. He stumbled into the elevator as he was shoved in.
"Kate?"
His voice, pitiful and unsure, was soft and scared. Her head cocked to the side and she raised her hand, fluttering a small-finger wave. He narrowed his eyes, anger swimming across his features as Castle recognized the gesture. He fought with renewed vigor, the mechanical doors closing between them.
"Wait! You're not Kate! She's no-!"
His fruitless cries were cut off as the machine descended, his muffled voice fading away. Her hand dropped limply to her side.
"Ba-bye," she whispered to no one, a pleased, sadistic smile etching its way across her face.
After a empty moment, she whipped out her phone and dialed a familiar number; the line connected instantly.
"It's done" The line dropped and she deposited the cell into the jacket once again.
With that worthless, bothersome, annoying idiot writer out of the way, finally, everything was slowly falling into place.
"Beckett?"
She scowled darkly, a purple gleam flashing in her eyes momentarily as she turned on her heels. Facing the two detectives, she forced a small smile into her features.
"Yes?"
A/N: This is a short prompt idea I had in my head, and I wanted to post it. Side effects: Confusion
I don't know if I'll turn it into a real story or not. Maybe in the future, I'm not sure.
