Trish's POV
Click click click went the keyboard on my phone as I walked to the bus stop. I was super stressed out. Austin was about to have a live webcast on the beach tonight. There are going to be dozens of radio stations, TV news stations, newspapers, and most importantly, big time producers. If I got my job done. I needed to get the word about this webcast so that somebody important would watch or show up to this event.
I still had so many logistics to work out. I needed lights, a DJ, a sound system for microphones and speakers, a piano, and so much more. Not to mention that I wasn't really on good terms with the lifeguards ever since they fired me. Let's just say that if you are a lifeguard, you CANNOT yell "Shark!" without there actually being one. You only make that mistake once…
I was so stressed out about tonight. Well, really, all of Team Austin was. Dez was perfectly the video that we were premiering tonight, Ally was busy writing a new song, and Austin was busy learning the song and practicing all the classics.
I looked up from my phone when I heard the bus pull up in front of me. I walked on and slipped into a seat near the back without taking my eyes of my phone. The bus heaved along its route and eventually stopped in front of Sonic Boom. Ally walked onto the bus and plopped into the seat next to me with Austin in tow.
"Hey Ally?" I asked her. "Do you think this outfit looks managery enough?" I looked up from my phone and quickly took in Austin and Ally's appearances. Their clothes were wrinkled, their hair was not at all put together, and they had dark bags under their eyes. "Whoa." I said, startled. "What happened to you too? Did you get hit by a bus?"
"No." Ally said sleepily. "Austin and I pulled an all-nighter to-"Her statement was interrupted by a yawn.
"To finish the new song for tonight." Austin finished for her as he stifled a yawn.
"Yeah. I'm so stressed out about tonight", I continued. "But Ally? Does my outfit look managery enough? I had to change three times this morning until I found this outfit. Is it good enough?" I finished in one breath.
"Um, yeah Trish." Ally began. "It, uh, looks, um, uh, good, I guess." She was cut off by a yawn before she finally fell asleep next to Austin.
I figured I wouldn't get anywhere with Ally in her current state, so I decided to let her sleep. I turned back to my phone and continued typing. I heard Ally mumbling some lyrics in her sleep, so I looked up at her. She was gripping Austin's arms so tightly that her knuckles were white. She was leaning on him as if she couldn't support herself and her shoulder was limply lying on his shoulder. Austin looked like he didn't even notice and he was staring blankly at the bus seat in front of him. They must've worked really hard last night. I thought to myself.
Austin was startled out of his daze when the bus hit a speed bump. When he saw Ally's position of him, his lips turned upwards into a small grin. His eyes shone with happiness and something I'd never seen in his eyes before. Was it- no. No, it couldn't be… love? Austin didn't love Ally? Did he?
Austin looked at me and I quickly averted my eyes and resumed texting again. When he thought I wasn't looking, he intertwined his fingers with Ally's unoccupied hand that was lying on his thigh. He slowly and gently gave her head a small kiss as he squeezed her hand. It was as if he wanted to treasure this moment as long as he could.
Ally suddenly jumped up, awaken from her sleep. Austin quickly pulled his hand out of hers and turned his head towards the window. She looked around, trying to figure out what had woken her up. Not figuring out what had woken her up, Ally resettled herself on Austin's arm and quickly fell back asleep, ignorant of what Austin had done just moments before.
Wow. If only she knew…
