Aftermath and Redemption

The sky was still dark above the area known as D-point. She got to her feet and and looked at first at the hole now in the ceiling to the sky above.
"I'm alive, but how?"
She saw in the faint light of her surroundings that she was still wearing the long purple gown that she had been wearing earlier but now that gown was torn in several places. Her dark tiara was on the ground, broken in two.
"The Ginzuishou?..Why?..I should've been destroyed!"
Beryl found herself back in the chamber where it moments earlier she had begged Metallia for the power to defeat the princess. Beryl contemplated the results of what just happened and of Serenity's words..
"I have faith in this world that everyone tried to protect!"
"Faith in this world...faith...And I thought Serenity was the fool.."
Beryl made her way back to her now empty throne room. She remembers more words spoken to her from long ago during the attack on the Moon Kingdom.
"Beryl, you are being misguided by Metallia, who possesses evil energy. Wake up! Rid yourself of the evil mind!"
Upon remembering these words Beryl wept. Then she spoke even though no one was there to hear
"Prince Endymion, I understand now why you protected her. You protected her out of love. I was wrong to be jealous. Metallia used my jealousy and nearly consumed me. After all this time thanks to the Ginzuishou..no,, the faith and love of Serenity and her Senshi channeled through the Ginzuishou, Metallia has been completely destroyed and I am finally rid of the evil mind as you put it"
Then she spoke seemingly resigned to her fate
"Because of my part in this tale.. I shall remain alone in this place..."
"Not alone, your highness"
"Who?"
She looked to the direction that the voice was coming from and she could not believe her eyes when she saw...
"Jadeite?.."
"Apparently the energy that was released also freed me from my eternal sleep, my Queen."
She slowly stepped down from her throne at that point and looked directly at him..and softly smiled.
"Jadeite,.. Queen Metallia is no more.. The youma have crumbled to dust.. This is the death of our Dark Kingdom!..and may Earth be better for it"
"Then let us leave this place, my Queen."
"It's just plain Beryl now, Jadeite."
"As you wish Beryl", Jadeite smiled back now,.."..but you'll always be a queen to me!"
As they made their way toward the underground portal that still connected the remains of the Dark Kingdom, the former queen made some final observations..
"As a queen, I've had servants and subordinates to do my bidding but have never had anyone I could call a "friend" before.."
"Well, speaking as a former subject, I must say I'm honored to be first..although I do understand from some of my reconnaissance of this world that sometimes friends can also become more..."
With that being said the former queen and former general left the ruins of the Dark Kingdom to begin a new life..where it would lead.. who knows..
