Then they were kissing; Kel's heart pounded faster and her palms were sweating. Wow, was all she could think. She was warm all over, she had never kissed anyone before, but she supposed she was doing okay because Neal kept kissing her. Now she was hot, almost unbearably so. She was on fire. The room was on fire! Kel screamed and pulled away.
"I didn't think I was that bad a kisser," Neal smiled wryly but his smile turned fear as he saw the fire. A candle had gotten knocked onto his bed. Neal grabbed Kel and ran to the door. They both banged on the door. The fire crept closer and closer. When the fire reached their feet, Neal kissed Kel, and the hugged her, they stayed like that as the fire reached for them. BANG!!! Kel and Neal flew backwards as the door was blasted off it's hinges and the fire doused. When the smoke had cleared Daine, Crown perched on her shoulder, rushed in followed by Numair.
"Are you too okay?" she asked concerned as she checked them for wounds. "Crown came to get me, she say that when you didn't come to feed them she came to Nealan's room and smelled the smoke," she explained.
"I would like to have a word with both of you," Numair said icily. Daine gave them a warning look and mouthed the word "Sorry".
"Uh-oh," Neal muttered to Kel," Yes Master Numair," he said to Numair, he and Kel stood up and followed Daine and Numair to their rooms. Crown went from Daine to Kel's shoulder.
After a long lecture from Numair, Kel and Neal were scrubbing Numair and Daine's floors.
"I suppose it serves us right," Neal commented, Kel choose not to reply. " Well," Neal went on," I know it wasn't really you fault, so I got you something to make up for it," He handed her a beautiful white rose. Kel gasped.
" These are my favorite," she said, Neal smiled, and they shared a long, uninterrupted kiss.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Kel,"
