Five reasons why I know he likes me:

1) He didn't get angry at me when I spilled paint on his clothes.

I was just trying to paint a portrait of him, but just being around him made me nervous. I got a little bit flustered, and I accidentally knocked over a can of red paint with my elbow.

"OH! I-I'm so s-sorry, Mr. Justice! I-I'm such a k-klutz sometimes!" I could feel my face grow as deep a scarlet hue as the color of the paint I had spilled on him.

"No prob, Vera. The red blends right in with my vest," He joked, "I'll help you clean the rest of the mess up."

2) Sometimes I can see him staring at me from out of the corner of my eye.

"Mr. Justice, is something wrong," I had asked him once.

"W-why no, Vera, why w-would you ask that?"

"Because I saw you looking at me, and now your cheeks are growing pinker by the second." He's so cute when he's embarrassed.

3) He asked me to call him by his first name.

"Mr. Justice-"

"I keep telling you, you can call me Apollo if you want to, Vera."

"…"

"…Or you can keep calling me 'Mr. Justice.' Whichever you feel most comfortable doing."

"Okay then… Apollo."

4) He asked me out… Kind of. I'm still new to the whole 'dating' thing, but I think this counts.

"Hey Vera? I've got an extra ticket to Trucy's show tonight. Would you like to come with me?"

"…Okay. It's been so long since I've seen actual magicians performing…"

"I know! That's part of why I wanted to take you to see the latest generation of the Gramarye Troupe pull a five-course Thanksgiving dinner out from a pair of panties!"

I just had to smile at his description of his little sister's magic act. After all, no ordinary high-school sophomore can conjure a feast from magic undies.

5) I kissed him on the cheek, and he didn't resist.
