The young blue haired man sat in the corner of a dark room, a knife gripped tightly in his hand, "W-why…why don't they like me.." he whispered, tears flowing from his blue eyes. His heart beat faster and faster as he raised the knife and brought it down on his wrist. He winced, more tears falling down his cheeks as he continued this several times.
"Kaito!" the door flew open and a woman with short brown hair rushed in and ran over to him. She yanked the knife out of his hand and dropped it to the side then quickly embraced him.
"M-Meiko?" Kaito said through his sobs. He put his un-cut arm around her and buried his face in her shoulder, crying into it. "I-I can't do this any more!" He sobbed, "His h-harsh looks, his cold gl-glares! W-why can't I be successful l-like you Mei-chan?" he cried, clinging tightly to her. Meiko bit her lip and rubbed his back, trying to comfort him in some way. "I-I…don't want to go on like this…l-let me go Mei-chan…I-I'm only b-bringing you d-down…" He whispered into her shoulder.
Her eyes widened and she looked at him, tears forming in her eyes, "K-Kaito! D-don't say that!" She said, putting her hands on his cheeks to make him look at her. "I can't lose you Kaito…I don't want to go on with out you," she whispered, sounding desperate.
Kaito stared at her, confused, "…what would it mater if I'm here or not…? Everyone's lives would be better if they didn't have to deal with me…" he said, looking down and at the knife.
Meiko bit back a sob and pushed the knife across the room. "K-Kaito…I would miss you to much…please…d-don't leave me…" she said, her hands still on his cheeks.
Kaito's eyes searched her face, a look of confusion still there, "…you would..?" he asked as if he didn't believe it.
She nodded and pressed their foreheads together, "Kaito…I…I love you…please…d-don't do this.." She pleaded.
Kaitos eyes widened and he stared at her, he had never heard those words directed towards him before. "Y-you…love me?" He whispered in disbelief. Meiko nodded again,
"We can get through this together…please…just trust in me…" She said, bringing their faces closer together. Kaito nodded slowly,
"I…I trust you Mei-chan…" He whispered as he put his arms around her, "Please…just stay by my side.." He said.
"Of course…I always will…till we turn to rust and fade away she said, closing the distance between them and kissed him gently. Kaito closed his eyes and returned the kiss.
The two parted after a bit, their foreheads still pressed together.
"I love you Kaito…I really do…" Meiko whispered, running her fingers through his hair lightly.
Kaito smiled softly, "I love you too Mei-chan…" Meiko smiled a bit more,
"…lets go get your arm bandaged, alright?" Meiko said, sitting back a bit. Kaito nodded,
"Alright…lets do that…"
"Come on then~" She said, getting up and taking his hands, pulling him up as well. Kaito smiled and held onto her hand lightly. Meiko smiled and held his hand, leading him out of the room.
"…Thank you Mei-chan."
