Yu-Gi-Oh! 1
*Read all the way to the bottom of the for more information on the story and author's notes*
When I turned 10 my mother married a Captain in the Royal Guard, who has twin girls and a young son. In order they are named: Anit (Egyptian form of Persian Anahita), Hatshepsut (leader of noble women), and Aahmes (child of the moon.). When I was 13 years old my mother passed away. It has been about 10 years since she has started living in the afterlife, since her death my stepfather has made me the servant of the household. I inherited mothers long golden hair, bright violet eyes, and also her short and petite stature.
Its late in the morning and I'm at home cleaning the house with my stepbrother Aahmes who is helping me clean up, while my stepfather and his daughters are out shopping. The both of us finished cleaning the living room and head into the kitchen to prepare dinner before his father returns. His cobalt blue eyes shine with kindness as he puts all the ingredients on the large wooden board. "Big sis Ebio, the ingredients are ready," he joyfully vocalizes pulling on my tattered and patched up beige dress at the same time. I smile at him and ruffle his raven black hair at the same time "thanks Aahmes" I tell him and head into the kitchen to prepare dinner.
I'm in the kitchen prepare the cauldron by hanging it above the dead fireplace and fill it up with water from a barrel that is right next to the hearth. I start the fire underneath the cauldron to heat up the water. I turn around to see the ingredients all cleaned and prepared to be cut I then put all the ingredients into the boiling cauldron and start cooking.
The front door slams open like thunder to hear Anit and Hatshepsut arguing about what they have bought earlier. "Hi Anit and Hatshepsut" Aahmes announces to his sister greeting them with a huge smiel. Both girls ignore him and head upstairs towards their bedroom. I exit the kitchen to see Aahmes sighing as he looks down at the ground with depressed aura around him. He then sees a shadow of a man about six feet tall with also raven black hair and dark blue eyes. He smiles and runs up to his father hugging him hard. "I hope Ebio did well today," says his father "Papa Ebio always does well every single day" replies Aahmes smiling. I look at this man who calls himself my stepfather "dinner is ready," I notify him as he sits down at the table for dinner. I head towards the kitchen to grab the serving plates.
It is the next day and I have finished sweeping the entire first floor so I am now kneeling on the floor scrubbing it clean with soap and water. My hair is covered in a rag so that it will not get dirty; a sigh escapes my mouth as I drop the rag into the large wooden bucket that is filled with water. I grab the handle and take it outside to dump out the dirty water, I then return back inside to finish cleaning up. I pick up buckets that are filled with dirt when my stepfamily walks into the house making a worse mess for me to clean up. My step father and sisters hand me items to be put away again "Ebio don't forget my dresses need cleaning" commands Anit, as her older sister looks at me with cold eyes "I'm hungry make me something right now" dictates Hatshepsut the same commanding and bossy tone. "I will make something," I reply as my stepfather hands me some extra items that needs to be put away first. Aahmes gazes at me while smiling brightly. I put away all the items in the pantry and then begin making everyone snacks in the kitchen.
After they finished eating their snack I start cleaning up as usual because once again I have to clean all the dishes and even the dirt on the floor that they have brought with them. Another sigh escapes my mouth and wished that mother were still alive to see how they are treating me. However if I start to complain and annoy stepfather would lock me in the attic until he wants to unlock it. That last time that happened I ended up being locked in my room for three days. While cleaning the twins walk up to me and smile devilishly as always "Hey you, this is where someone like you belongs, on the floor cleaning" they haughtily proclaim laughing; one of the twins sees the bucket where I've been dumping the dirt into and kicks it making the dirt spread back onto the floor. They leave the house laughing and start crying, wiping my own face with my dirty hands I continue to clean up.
I finished when stepfather walks into the room "Ebio I need you to do some errands at the marketplace for me and do not skip anything" he mandates and hands me a coin bag and a list of things that is needed. I grab my favorite basket and leave the house to go to the market place to see that it as busy as usual. Being out here made me happy and safe, the clear blue sky was alluring as people walk passed me. I grab the items that I needed and immediately head home when I see the twins walking around and being the pestering annoyances that they are. I head straight home before they see me, when my hand grabs around the long lever like bronze door knob and open the door to see my father writing on a scroll "about time" he replies as he inspects me with those cold eyes "put everything away" he orders as he points to the kitchen. I put away the items in their places and return doing household chores.
It's the next morning and wake up to the light of Ra's ray's that emerge into my worn down room, which is filled with dust and dirt everywhere. I get out of bed and stretch and change into some tattered raggedy clothes, brush my lengthy golden locks with a tattered comb and tigh a matching headpiece. I touch small grungy windows and open them to see the whole city, which includes the royal palace. I look down at the street to see the merchants getting ready for the market to sell their products. I sigh and head downstairs to the kitchen and start preparing breakfast. As I cook I hear footsteps entering the living room and then hear "breakfast better be finished soon girl," he bitterly expressed towards me. A sigh escapes my mouth "yes step-father" I reply and start plating his breakfast and head straight into the living room so that my step-father could eat before he leaves for his post at the guard house near the palace.
His frost hated filled eyes glare examine me "stop calling me stepfather, from now on its sir, or master" was all that came out of his tongue like poison or knives making me feel numb. I serve him breakfast and rapidly head to the kitchen
