Done for gabby-black's french challenge. I don't own harry potter or the outsiders.
"He was jerked half around by the impact of the bullets, then slowly crumbled with a look of grim triumph on his face. He was dead before he hit the ground."
Remus' eyes blurred, making him unable to finish the page. It's impossible, thought the young man, placing his book on the ground. How could anyone willingly give up their life for someone else's?
Remus had read 'The Outsiders' numerous times before, but every time he read it he was unable to understand the devotion Dally felt towards Johnny.
Sirius' worried voice cut into his thoughts. 'Remus what's wrong?'
Unknown to Remus, his tears had spilled over, running down his face. Angrily he wiped the tears on the back of his arm.
'Oh nothing really Sirius-'
'Nothing? In the seven years I've known you I have only ever seen you cry once before.'
'Fine. It's the book I was reading.' He said gesturing to the paperback lying on the floor. 'Someone died,' he finished lamely, realising what an idiot he sounded.
His thoughts were confirmed when Sirius broke out laughing. 'That's stupid Remus. We both know life never has a happy ending.'
'Come on Sirius, He protested. 'Life has to have a happy ending, I mean for god's sake look at Lily and James. You can't tell me that's not a happy ending.'
Sirius had just given him a funny look before walking out the common room.

Looking at the place Sirius' body had fallen through, Remus could only think of the tête-à-tête they had shared all those years ago and how naïve he had been. Tears once again fell down his face but this time he did not wipe them away.
'I understand now,' he said speaking to the empty room. 'I Understand.'
Remus stood quiet, before walking to the door.
Suddenly he turned and faced the place Sirius had stood moments before. 'You were right Sirius, life never has a happy ending. Adieu my brother.'
