a fun little Stargate fic! :)

Sam knew she needed to be one of the first in the mess hall if she wanted to get her favourite desert. When General Hammond finally ended the briefing, she quickly rushed to get her lunch.

"Yummy." She said quietly at the lemon chicken. She filled her plate with chicken, potatoes and the veggies of the day. A wide smile crossed her face as she made it the desert shelves. The grin quickly faded as she realized there was no blue jell-o.

"Red, red, red, green, red." She frowned and picked up a bowl of fruits. Sam went to sit with Teal'C, Jonas and Jack. The blonde ate in quiet, quite disappointed there was no blue jell-o on her birthday even if she had put in the request with the kitchen staff countless times.

"So, Sam, what are you doing over the weekend?" Jack asked knowing they all had time off.

"I'm probably just going to stay here, there's a new piece of naquadria using technology in my lab that SG-7 brought back, I'm going to work on that."

"Fascinating," Jack replied. "You sure you don't want to come fishing?"

"Positive." Sam nodded. She stood and brought her empty tray to the counter. Sam sighed and dragged her feet on her way back to her lab.

The blonde was hard at work when she heard a knock on the door.

"Hi Janet, come in." Sam said as she looked up.

"Are you busy?" the doctor asked standing in the doorway.

"No, no, come on in."

"Okay." Janet smiled. She stepped into the room followed by Jack, Jonas and Teal'C, all three holding big bowls of blue Jell-o topped off with whipped cream and candles.

"Happy Birthday Sam." Jonas said.

"Guys, you remembered." Sam smiled.

"Of course we did!" Jack replied.

"Actually, Doctor Janet Fraiser remembered." Teal'C clarified.

"It doesn't matter who remembered, it's the thought that counts." Janet smiled as she handed the spoons to everyone.

"Make a wish." Jack said putting the bowl of jell-o in Sam's face. The blonde closed her eyes and blew out the candles. The crew sat around Sam's desk and ate 'cake'.

"Well, I better get back to work now, Happy birthday again Sam, we can have another girl's night to celebrate when we both have time off." Janet smiled as she left.

"We should go too Teal'C." Jonas said getting up. The Jaffa nodded and followed Jonas out of the room.

"So, what d'you wish for?" Jack asked.

"If I tell you then it won't come true." Sam replied.

"You don't believe that crap, do you?"

"Not really but I'm not taking chances." Sam smiled. Jack nodded and stood.

"Well, I'm going to leave you to work."

"You don't want to help?"

"Not really." Jack shook his head. He nodded and walked around the desk.

"What are you doing?" Sam asked.

"Happy birthday Sam." Jack said before he leaned in and kissed her.

"Thanks Jack." Sam said as she watched him walk out. "My wish came true." She whispered to herself as she returned to work.
