The songs I'll always sing
Demyx sat down on his bed, humming to himself, looking at a picture of Zexion. He smiled to himself and summoned his sitar and started playing. He began to remember the songs Zexion used to sing to him, like the night he'd had a nightmare...
"Demyx? What happened?"
"I had a nightmare...A horrible nightmare!"
"Shh, it's okay...it's okay..."
Zexion had held Demyx close to his chest and rocked him, singing.
"In the arms of an angel,

From your dark, cold, bedroom
You are pulled from the wreckage,

Demyx smiled as he played the song, remembering how between them Zexion started calling him his angel after that night...then he remembered the song he'd sang to him when he'd first realized he truly loved Zexion. They'd been in his room and Demyx had decided to tell him, that was their first kiss...

Demyx had cut off as Zexion had kissed him tenderly, happily, lovingly...
Demyx had to smile as he remembered that time. It was such a happy moment...He chuckled as he remembered the time he'd sang to Zexion when he'd asked Demyx how much he loved him. That was the day Zexion had finally decided they must really have hearts...
"And I'd give up forever to touch you
Cause I know that you feel me somehow
You're the closest to heaven that
I'll ever be
And I don't want to go home right now..."
"That's all Demyx, I can hear it already." Zexion had said, brushing a few stray hairs from Demyx's face. He'd smiled shyly and looked down.
"I really do love you Demyx." He said softly.
"So...?"
"Yes, I do believe we can feel, because I can feel right now."
Demyx had to wipe a tear from his eye.
"How I wish you were here Zex...I miss you more than you'll ever know...and I promise to always remember you, and to always think of that song you sang..."
"NO! Zexion, please! Don't die...don't die..." Demyx cried as he held his lover close to his chest.
"Demyx...listen to me...this time...I sing for you..." Zexion whispered. "I'll never be gone...and when you want to know where I am, or when you will see me...just remember this song..."
"Sing for me Zex..."
"I'm already there,
Take a look around
I'm the sunshine in your hair
I'm the shadow on the ground
I'm the whisper in the wind...
I'm your imaginary friend...
And I know, I'm in your prayers
Oh, I'm already...there..."
Zexion's head had fallen against Demyx's chest as his breathing ceased. Demyx cried and cried, but began singing that song, and he found it to be true...
"It is true Zexion...You are already here, as you always will be...in my heart." Demyx said as tears fell from his eyes, down his face, and landed on the picture of his lost beloved.
