Mariokart

So, my friends and I got together and had a conversation about Vampire Knight. This story is what happened. This is really more of a lighthearted comedy series of one-shots. And this is my first time writing in third-person, past-tense in a while, so notify me of any errors. I normally write first-person, present-tense. (Yes, in this story, Cross Academy has TVs.)

The Night Class was talking before they began. Who had the idea to get them together for a group activity? No one knew, the idea was submitted to Headmaster Cross anonymously. So, most of the conversation was about that subject.

"Maybe Zero did it," Aido said, which brought on a fast response.

"Aido, I want you to think through how much sense that makes."

"Maybe it was Ruka?"

"I can promise that it wasn't me, maybe it was you, Aido."

"Why would I be the one to do that?"

"Guys," Takuma interrupted, "maybe Kaname did it."

Everyone in the room laughed.

"Really?" Kaname said—or rather tried to say—through laughter. "Me? The most amusing part about this is that I know who did it. I just wanted to watch you guys accuse each other for a while."

"Well, then, who was it?" Zero asked.

"If you haven't figured it out by now, it was Takuma."

"Kaname put me up to it!" Takuma said.

"We were probably all thinking of doing it," Aido said, "we get so serious at times."

"That's true. I think we need a break." Ruka said.

"Couldn't have said it better myself, now who's ready for me to beat them at Mariokart?"

"You're on." Kaname challenged.

"I…I beat Kaname!" Aido exclaimed.

"Okay, but don't yell so loud, I'm pretty sure you woke up the whole Day Class." Takuma said.

Aido seemed to be hyperventilating out of excitement.

"Aido, calm down. Did you beat Kaname? Yes. Have all laws of probability been defied? Yes. But calm down, Takuma's right about not waking anyone up. We'd be faced with a dreamy-eyed mob of teenage fangirls." Zero said.

"Typical day." Aido replied.

After a few hours, the Night Class decided they'd had enough of Aido hyperventilating every time he beat Kaname and were done.

"Can I just say, I'm glad we did this. It's a nice way to unwind and get away from all of the seriousness that our artist puts us through." Zero said.

"Yeah, we bonded, like normal people." Kaname agreed.

"Kaname and Zero are agreeing on something. Amazing." Takuma said, fascinated.

"Well, what our artist writes about us doesn't change our personality, it only determines what our readers think about our personality." Ruka said.

"I'm glad she's done with the series. If I had to go through one more dramatic event, I was going to collapse into a serious-all-the-time personality, like Kaname." Aido said.

"Hey!" Kaname jokingly exclaimed.

"So, now what? Do we do something like this again? Or do we carry on with our serious lives like this never even happened?" Ruka asked.

And that was the question that left everyone thinking.

So, just to be clear, I really like Vampire Knight, this story was for fun. And, I know Yuki was missing from the story, but it didn't feel natural for me to write her into it. I know another Night Class character was missing, but I just wanted to go with these few. Maybe these characters will show up later.
