Bruce wanders around the old house leaning heavily on his cane. He doesn't leave it very much anymore. He doesn't need to; he has all the company with him.

He turns the corner to find a tall, dark hair figure looking lost and confused; trying to figure out what went wrong. He stares at Bruce, his deep hurt clearly on his features. Bruce passes by him to the foyer where a petite, red head stands, tears in her eyes, working out a school girl crush gone horribly wrong. He moves into the kitchen where a dapper English man stands, forever in his eternal domain, fretting over his master and dinner. Finally, he moves into the study to stand by the clock. Even though he can't see him, Bruce knows the final ghost waits down in the cave, a smaller figure than the others, still trying to convince Bruce that he wants this, that this is all he has ever wanted. This one hurts the most because Bruce knows this one is entirely of his own making. There are other ghosts, too. But these four haunt him eminently because these are the four he's wronged the most.

But then the McGinnis kid arrives and forces him out of his shell. He starts to live again. As he does, Bruce can't help but feel like this might just be what redemption feels like.
