Understand this is just a quick drabble in the hopes of getting me back into writing. At this point EVERYTHING is on hiatus, and probably will be until next year sometime. I may add other drabbles to this collection, who knows maybe I'll find some inspiration.

As a young girl, Hermione had always loved the fairytale princess stories. Her favorite being Cinderella. She had taken comfort in her books and the stories told within when the other children would pick on her for her hair and teeth and for being too smart. All things she was unable to help. Sometimes, in the usual childlike way, she'd wish that her very own Prince Charming would come rescue her on a white steed and take her away. As she grew older, she found herself watching romantic movies with a wistful sigh. When they had been assigned to read Romeo and Juliet in school, she found herself longing for someone to kiss her as sweetly.
After finishing her A-Levels, and starting University, she had mostly given up on the idea of a happily ever after.
People didn't want true romance anymore, only quick and easy lust that they mistook for love. At least that's what she thought until she met him. Harry James Potter had stumbled into her life quite literally. She had been studying in the University's library when the bespectacled young man had tripped over her bag that was slightly too far out into the aisle.
She had immediately apologized for her forgetfulness, only to have him stop her with a dazzling smile.
"That's quite alright miss, I seem to have broken your pen" he had told her, pointing to the pool of ink forming on the desk.
She had jumped up surprised and together they had tried to blot up the ink with spare bits of paper. Laughing when the ink seemed to stain their hands more than anything.
And so, their romance had begun. With ink stained fingers and laughter in a library. They dated for the rest of Uni. Harry learned all of her secrets, and she all of his. He was always a gentleman on dates; pulling out chairs, opening doors and picking up the tab. They were best friends, and lovers and Hermione thought maybe she had found that fairytale love she had dreamed of as a young girl.
On the day of graduation, Harry and Hermione returned home to their small flat. Once the door had shut Hermione had turned around to find Harry on one knee, a ring in his hand and a smile on his face.
"Marry me?"
Hermione's eyes widened in surprise. This was completely unexpected.
"Please Hermione, be my wife? You know I never make a promise I don't intend to keep. And I promise you this is forever between us. I love you, more than I've ever loved anyone, so please do me the honor of becoming my wife."
With tears streaming down her face, still in her graduation dress, she nodded frantically before practicality screaming out "Yes!"
