"Why do you even care?"
Nico looked at Percy, and for the first time, Percy saw Nico crying. But when Percy tried to move towards Nico, Nico move further away.
"Why do I even care? Nico..."
"Don't lie!" You were with her, how could you still..."
While Nico wiped his eyes, Percy made his move and gave Nico a hug. No matter what Nico did, Percy wouldn't let go. He felt like if he let go of Nico, he would lose him forever.
"Nico, you have no idea how much I care about you, how much I..."
"Don't say it!"
"Nico?"
"Everyone who says those words always end up dying!"
Percy pulled Nico closer to him, and the two of them just sat there. Percy could feel Nico's tears through his shirt. After a while, Nico started to hiccup, and Percy push Nico up, so that he was at arms length.
"Nico, I am going to tell you this, and you are going to listen..."
Nico turned his head, but Percy pulled his face back so that they were looking at each other. Percy lend in towards Nico, stopping an inch from his face.
"Nico di Angelo, I love you."
And like that, Percy was kissing Nico. Percy found that Nico had a taste to him that, for some reason, tasted like burnt marshmallows. Nico learned that Percy tasted like the sea and his mother's blue pancakes. When Percy broke the kiss, Nico's face was red, and Percy had to smile.
"Don't laugh..."
"It's not that... You taste like burnt marshmallows."
"Perce..."
"Yes?"
"I love you to."
Nico pulled Percy in and the two of them made out on Percy's bed. It wasn't until sometime later, when Sally came home, that they broke apart from each other, only to start again when Sally was asleep. It was the morning when they decided to stop.
"What will we tell the others? What will our fathers think?"
"One thing at a time... First, everyone will understand, even Annabeth. They're friends and family, and if they don't like it, then they weren't really our friends."
And that was how Percy and Nico spent their first day as lovers, talking about what they would do.
